We are making our dining reservations for the first week of december and they are already getting booked up. even as DVC preferred guests, i hope its only the free meal people and not an idea of the crowds.

Do you guys care to elaborate on what particular weeks you have off? The week of September 20th was mentioned. But, when in Nov, Dec, Feb and April do you guys have off. I am most interested in the 2 weeks you get off in December. Might I assume it is the same 2 weeks everyone else gets off - 21st - 1st, last day of school the 18, returning on the 4th??

Thanks! :)

Henry County, Ga
In Sept., we get the 14-18
In Nov., we get the whole week of Thanksgiving
In Dec., we get Dec.21- Jan.4 off return on the 5th
In, Feb., We get the 15-19
In April, we get the 5-9

The last day of school is May 28

I don't get why they don't hold like 10 or 20% of reservations for the day of so people can actually eat in the park, that way you don't anger the daily guests and they can get into the TS places.

Because then there's the flip-flop: people who call in to get reservations, only to be told all the advanced reservations are already taken, so in order to get the reservations they want, they'd have to try to make them the day-of. How annoying would that be, to KNOW tables are available, and you called in advance to get one, but they won't let you make a reservation, so the day-of, instead of going out to enjoy your day, you're waiting on hold or standing in line with a bunch of other angsty jittery visitors hoping to get one of those few available slots?

For people like me, who make reservations in advance and often arrange plans for going to specific parks around them, your way would be just as infuriating as the current way is for you and people like you. I find the first-reserved-first-served approach to be more fair. Plenty of restaurants outside of WDW that take reservations will also turn people away at the door if all tables are reserved; a high-traffic destination like WDW should be no different.

I will say this though - like many of you, I'd be cool with there being a penalty for not canceling reservations in advance, to cut down on people making multiple reservations and then going to the one they'd prefer, inconveniencing other people with their crass indifference.

Took my daughter to BBB for the full princess affair for her 6th birthday today. This morning we went to Cinderella Castle for breakfast. Great breakfast as always. pics with Cindy were beautiful. Rode a few rides and met fairies at rope drop. Daughter liked the free $68 fun card that Mickey gave her and bought some swag. Longest line was 10 mins on a Spectro night! Took long nap and went for a swim. Weather was nice. Chef Mickey breakfast tomorrow and taking older kids to Typhoon Lagoon.

We have missed out on Sept for the past two years. This year we are back -- with a vengence.

2 full weeks.

I hope the crowds hold out.

I am really worried about the food and wine fest.

Many kids back in school may have something to do with it. ENJOY yourself! I envy you being there at this time of the year.

Ahh...it's my favorite time of year, the time I can actually walk around Fantasyland without a stroller shoved into my back. I think I'll go enjoy that this weekend:sohappy:

Yesterday was my first full day here and I can see that Mk and Epcot were dead. The longest I waited was 15 minutes on Soarin yup Soarin.

We have gone about 5 times over the last 7 years in late August or September. Also our favorite time to go (and I am very excited that they moved up the MNSSHP into earlier September. It now gives us more travel options as we love this party and think it is worth every penny. That said, the crowd levels are great especially on Monday and Tueasdy of the week. As you get closer to the weekend, get more crowded. Have fun. We went in early December this past year -- it was nice to see the parks decked out for the Xmas Holiday, but frankly we are going back to September even if the kids just got back into school. We will probably target late September so the kids have a few weeks to settle into school since they don't start until Labor Day.

Have fun. We will be back in September 2010.

Had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and departed for Typhoon Lagoon. Did everything there in about two hours, including multiple Crush n Gushers. Back to room to change and off to DHS. Wait time posted at TSM was 30, but actually shorter. I can officially live without seeing American Idol Experience again. The set is amazing, but lack of talent and cheesy knock-off judges rate this show only slightly higher than the now defunct Stitch disaster. Critiquing a 14 year old's singing ability isn't very magical or celebrative to me. There's my two cents.

Interesting view. I've seen it once and enjoyed it. It's like an hour and a half commitment though. The singing is about 6 minutes of that time. In my opinion, the highlight of our show was the warm up act. He was also one of the cast members that spoke at Mark Priest's memorial service:

He was the one on the right in this video.

got back last night

Just got back last night from WDW. :( Great trip!! :) Light crowds, weather was good except usual afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Arrived 8/30 left 9/4 seems like DHS was the busiest. Went to DHS Tuesday to ride TSM got there @ 10:15 fast pass return was 12:30 - 1:30 went Thursday to ride TSM got there about 10:30 fast pass return was 2:30 - 3:30. Epcot wasn't busy at all. Soarin wait time Wed was 15 mins. early in day. World showcase was very light. MK wasn't bad at all longest wait was 15 mins on Pooh and Peter Pan, Buzz wait was 5 mins. It was nice to be able to move around and not run into people that just stop in front of you!! I usually go over Labor Day Weekend but just too crazy Sat and Sun. Lot of in state people go for last summer blow out.

I just talked to my sister, who is at Epcot, and she said that it was a great day to be there. First off, they were chosen to open the park, again. :ROFLOL: The crowds are fine and the weather has been great so they are having a great time. We leave for Disney Thursday, and I hope that everything stays this way for our trip as well. :)

Ok question about the Epcot opening, I heard a song on Live 365 and it was the opening of Epcot and said something like "wecome to the 21st century" with music playing and such ,Granted I know it was real old but very cool though, but I was wondering if they still play something similar , I 've never been to Epcot before the gate opened..Was just curious..
