The projection is fine, but the mermaid skeleton in the boat? Ehhh, I don't like it, I think its gonna be more confusing to most guests honestly

The changes look very impressive, even from looking at such a low quality video. I like them, it definitely makes the scene ever so creepier. I'll even go as far as to say that it's a bit of an improvement, at least when it comes to creepiness. I was never too impressed or even frightened when I was little (perhaps I was a weird child), but listening to the mermaids and seeing the new skeleton really gave me the chills! Bravo, TDO!

(This doesn't have anything to do with the mermaids, but I miss Davy Jones instead of Blackbeard. It wasn't all that necessary to do the switch. Davy Jones is a superior villain and pirate figure anyway, in my opinion. But a gal can dream!)

I like the mermaid effect, haunting and cool. However, I'm not really a huge fan of the fact that the mermaid skeleton is inside the boat. I think if one or two were out on the sand to look like they were crawling it would be cooler and the scene wouldn't be as cluttered as it is with that big boat hull there now. Hopefully we'll get really clear video soon. And I like the music, but I hope it's intermittent with the old yo ho music we all love so much.

Interesting.... I think if we were actually there it'd be creepy... I think an interesting touch, even though it's not an animatronic.

I agree - looks pretty creepy to me. Those dark corners full of water are always a bit creepy, in all rides, LOL (even Listening to the Land).

Although I would always prefer animation over projection, the truth is - you know they would break down all the time, and we'd have a constant "mermaid watch" like we do for effects on Splash Mountain, etc. At least this should work, most of the time. I hope.

I agree. Water+animatronics always seems to cause maintenance issues, so I understand the projection. Personally I think the effect is cool, and hopefully clearer in person!

Just got a chance to see it in person a few times. Personally, I like it! I think it adds a bit if creepiness that Pirates needed. I actually think the wrecked boat helps because it puts the focus on the mermaid skeleton. I made a point to listen to the guests around me, and I heard nothing bit good things from everyone. The only criticism I have is that the extra fog in the room really emphasizes that the mermaids are projections from above. I wish they could figure out a way to minimize that so it really can appear as though these creatures are coming up from below. All in all, it's nitpicky, so I'll sum up by saying nice job WDI.

If only I could say the same for the Country Bears...
