Here come the mermaids

Sit on the left side of the boat if you want to see anything. As far as I could tell there was nothing on the right, and the projections appear to be at water level.

In the interest of my getting something accomplished today at work, can someone please post a video or a written play by play of the effect? I have completely allowed this to consume my every thought and am obsessingly checking this site for updates!!

*everyone who thinks I have issues, raise their hand* :lookaround:

Seriously! First time posting in this thread but I have been watching it religiously for weeks! UGH! I want to know something!!! haha

I wonder if the projections are from above or below the water. That would be key in the realism I think.
Most likely from above. I believe these are the projectors in question, and likely wouldn't work underwater.

At only a couple of feet deep, I don't think an underwater projector would project an image big enough.

I'm just thinking that with some of the projection technology that is available now, like what they use on the castle and we've seen in the Olympics and other sporting events, there is great potential for them to do something pretty cool with this. Please tell me I wont be disappointed.

As for the art, first that pic that raven posted is only a very small portion of the artwork that we were presented with, the actual is very wide and in full color budget constraints trimmed down the scale of the project so now what you see is what you get, No Animatronic figures just Magic :D

sickening how much does an actual ani. Figure cost these days? With the billions Disney makes, is it really so much to ask?

You would be surprised at the cost of a figure, to give you an idea, 1 chicken - $7k-10k do that math
fine. A full human.. $25,000-40,000? Still chump change for them. I don't see an issue. ;)
If it's that big a deal, stop the plus and redo the pirates they have...make them work, make them better, replace them so they have a lot more natural movement. Sigh.

I will check it out on Sunday.... Wisdh I was there now. I fear the projection will not be too visible through my camera or cell.
