That pretty nice of them.

Plus, it was probably better practice for the pilots to be thinking that they are actually doing something constructive instead of just an ordinary run-of-the-mill training mission.

I live in an Airforce town, I see training missions daily. Your tax dollars at work!

Not old, just vintage.
It is nuts if they aren't charged. There is no reason why taxpayers should have to foot the bill for a child's bad behavior. I know kids go missing (but really aren't) all the time, but it is very infrequent that it ends up with a search on this scale.

I'm pretty sure at minimum that the news agencies loved every minute of it. It had the makings of a perfect story.

Broke mid-day on a slow news day.
Action, suspense, edge of your seat excitement.
A plot twist!
Happy ending.

True...but they all had to scramble to dump the story and find something that wasn't a complete *headdesk* to talk about. :lol:

I agree. Especially given that there was this huge balloon blown up in the back yard without the parents watching....

I am in no means defending them, but they ARE storm chasers.:lol:

Kid shouldn't be ANYWHERE near it, though, without them.

I heard the kid make the comment about doing it "for the show" on Larry King Live. Very interesting...

On Anderson Cooper, some guy estimated that this whole fiasco is costing the tax payers around $28,000 or so.

Well these people are probably looking for more publicity as the dad has been a TV weatherman and the couple was also on Wife Swap according to the lady reporter on CNN during the search for the little boy.

That is exactly what I think.

I've been following this story all day. Fort Collins is where I'm currently at. It's been rather exciting. But what an ending. :rolleyes:
