News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

The interactive queue at WDW feels like a McDonald’s playground with a haunted mansion theme to it. It’s all jokes and gags and takes away from the attraction more than it adds. I wonder how many attractions wdi could have built instead of the interactive elements they installed for mansion, big thunder, Pooh, pan, and space

Glad that era seems to be over with...

I did think about that effect and its relation to this. Cool effect, but it did change the tone and pacing of that part of the ride.

We can also add the forgetful and pointless singing sirens as well..That effect didn't work half the time and you just heard that muffled singing in the cavern.

*Sigh* I still stand by that it will just be his hat box sitting by the Donald chair and every now and then just his head will appear looking at the guests and disappear up to the point that we meet him later on in the cemetery...

Plus, do you honestly think they have a budget for 2 full size outsourced animatronics now a days?

The Hatbox Ghost will be making one appearance, in Animatronic form, by the Endless Hallway.

Not sure how people twisted the press release to mean more than that.

This reminds me of when DLP put Jack Sparrow in the treasure room at the end of their version of pirates. Sure it’ll look cool and people will like it, but it’ll defeat the purpose of that part of the attraction

Just because you didn’t see him doesn’t mean he wasn’t there. You don’t see anywhere close to 999 ghosts.

I believe he was always included but was not seen as he has ability to visit th various mansions around the world .. always seems like special rules for him anyway

HA, oh I know, I just like the idea of a random ghost (one we have never seen, I'm not trying to say something needs to actually be removed here, just having some fun with this) being thrown from the mansion and wandering around like Adventureland.

If I had to guess, they might alter the "Every Room bit." Or with a little cut and paste...

We find it delightfully unlivable here (CUT). Every room has wall to wall creeps and (CUT) cold running chills. All our ghosts have been dying* to meet you! (PASTE) This one (Retired Madame Leota reference) has a remarkable head for materializing (PASTE) in this ghostly retreat.

I would be surprised if any audio is changed..But, I doubt it will..

Well I'm just happy the endless hallway is still the same. It's my favorite part of the ride.
