10 days to go and our tags arrived via FEDEX as promised! since this is a "free" service I am not going to sweat the small issues and am looking forward to a great time! :)

that's a great attitude...

Good reports

My brother and his wife used it on arrival on June 4th and when they left on June 10th. They had no issues at all. They were still showing Ice Age on the bus which I thought was a little wierd. Regardless they enjoyed the service.

We used ME in early June, we were staying at Pop Century. In the airport we had to wait about 10 minutes form the time we checked in at the ME desk which took like 1 minute till out bus was there and then it was just the normal travel time to the resort, just like Mears used to be. No different. It didn't take 2 hours to get to Disney it only took about 1/2 an hour from the airport to hotel. So not bad at all. On the way home we were able to check in at the hotel but there were plenty of folks that were flying other non participating airlines that were on the bus in fact we were the only ones pre checked in. So ME is a free service that does a decent job, I have no complaints, nothing better than free and unless it took like 6 hours to get to the hotel or to the airport I wouldn't pay for any other service.

My group and I just went to Disney in May and we had a very positive experience! It worked out so much better than expected, we checked in and hit a waterpark, by the time we were done playing in the pool our luggage was in the room. I would recommend it to any one to use! The only thing we didn't do was check in for our departure. The line was really long, and they were only open until 2:00pm. But, because most people waiting to check in at the hotel we waiting minimal time at the airport checking in.

In my opnion it is not worth paying for a shuttle when Disney's is beginning to shape up!:animwink:

I have only great things to say about Magical Express. We literally got right off the plane and right on a bus. We checked into our hotel and headed straight out to the park. Our luggage was in our room when we got back from the park a few hours later, even though our we had been bumped from our connecting flight in Atlanta--I was worried that would screw everything up.

The morning we left, we checked our luggage in at the lobby, and got our boarding passes from them. We got to stay an extra hour in the parks because of that and didn't have to wait in that horrendous baggage check line at the airport.

I was very impressed by this whole service. They have obviously worked out whatever initial kinks they had.

I may just consider using ME...

I was leaning toward the towncar thing...

Seems like all the kinks are getting worked out or are a thing of the past, there D'isgny. Unless you are under some serious time constraints I would go with DME. Belle

The only time constraints, my Belle, are my need to get to Disney World pronto...

to start the fun...

We usually do the towncar thing.....after reading all of these I'm still leaning that way.

What are the participating airlines?

It's hard to get flights up here in the North Country of NY. We fly out of Burlington, VT and the last time there were no flights for USAIR or Delta. We flew with Jetblue, which was a great experience.

Hi there D'isgny, I understand that but also understand I got there faster than I ever had with Mears ( About 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time I walked off the plane) so I dont think you are going to make it there much faster any other way!!!
Hey Goofy Fan you know you can use the DME service without flying in on a participating airline right? I flew in on Spirit air which is NOT one of the par airlines. I just tagged my bag, and viola!!! On the way back the only difference is that you will have to check your bags in at the airport as opposed to at your hotel!!! That and they will not be able to give you your boarding pass for a non par- airline at the hotel. Other than that it is not any problem to do DME with a non par airline. Belle

 Thanks Belle. I'm still not sure what I'll do, but I've still got some time.

Certainly take the time to think it over. I havent ever used a towncar service yet as when I was going down it was usually just me. I Am on my up and coming trip due to the fact that I am not traveling alone ( How unusual!) and the people I am with have always done the towncar thing, so Ill let you know if the towncar was much easier than DME. I can tell you DME was significantly nicer and more timely than Mears ever had been!!! As I said I had no problem with it and would certainly not hesitate to use it again. I am planning on using it on my October trip when there is going to be 6 of us!!!!!!!!! Complete with three kids!!!! That shows the amount of faith I have in this!!! Belle

When I booked our trip 2 weeks ago they booked us for the Magical Express. The only thing that worries me is that we are taking Hooters Air (i know...as long as I get to WDW I don't care) and Disney couldn't find the airline's code. Hooters just started flights to Orlando so I can see why there might be a problem. Has anyone booked with them? Were you able to book Magical Express with no problems?

i havent flown Hooters at all but I dont see how the airline would have terribly much bearing on booking the DME part of things, other than maybe to keep track of your flight so if your plane is running late your DME trip can be rescheduled etc. Belle

When I called Disney they had a problem finding the airline's code. I guess that's how Disney books you for DME. I guess I should just call them and get an update. I do know that all we have to do is check in at the DME counter at MCO and go. That is so nice!

we just returned from our trip on 6/25 using the DME and we had a wonderful experience with it. we were leery at first what with reading all the negative posts, etc. and my husband was thinking he wanted to get our own luggage, but in the end, we used DME all the way and had no problems whatsoever---and we flew on US AIR, a non-participating airline. we got our bags within 2 hours of check-in and there were plenty of reps in the airport showing us where to go and what to do and they could not have been nicer. even the bus drivers were very nice and friendly and the bus was clean and cool---it was so nice not to have to worry about finding our way for anything!!!!!!! also, on our return trip from POP to the airport, though we couldn't check our luggage at the hotel because we used a non-par airline, we still had no problems. got a phone number from the front desk the night before to call and verify our pick-up time for the DME bus, which was 9:10 am, we lined up with our luggage and the driver loaded it all on for us and off we went-----so i would think by now most of the gliches have been worked out----use it and enjoy!!!:)
