Halloween decorations now being installed at the Magic Kingdom

I doubt it. It was honestly a pretty big failure in the eyes of management. There were nights where I'm sure there were more cast members than guests in the park.

Other than the fireworks, the whole even was pretty lackluster, IMO.

We were there for one and I thought it was alright (empty, as you pointed out). I really liked the parade, too. The fireworks were definitely awesome, as well. I think it needed more entertainment than just a Captain Jack M&G.

I know the fairies aren't princesses, but I wonder if their popularity would boost the parties at all. It seemed like Disney could do something to execute them a little better. Perhaps stagger them a little more so that attendance at each would be higher? I dunno. I do hope they return, though I'm not holding out much hope.

I know it seems so early. But I guess if you think about it, next week is September, and Halloween will be here before we know it...

though I don't know what scary,

the thought of Halloween two months away.

or

The holidays being that much closer.

I do like those decorations, especially Oggie, Jack and the pumpkins!
Thanks. We would love to find a Sally but she seems to be as rare as hens teeth. I am hoping for a cool windless Halloween this year. That 12' inflatable Haunted house is a bear to get up even with a mild breeze and the fog looks so much better when it is not competing with wind.

Nope. 2 months for Halloween and 2 months for Christmas. I'm completely okay with that.

I agree. Let the holidays begin,:fork::xmas: it's basically September! I like to pre-decorate at home with autumn stuff and slowly start slipping halloween items in throughout September (to my wife's dismay).

I agree. I think it's great that Disney is extending these type of celebrations. It would be nice if there was always a special event being offered year round.

I really liked P&P. I definitely liked more than MVMCP and it ran a close second to MNSSHP. Music and Mayhem was IMHO the best fireworks show done in the MK but the parade was a little light. I do see management's point though. I went to P&P twice and the parks were day after 9/11 deserted.

I think P&P was great...not MNSSHP great...but when else can you ride Peter Pan (DS favorite ride at the time) six times without getting off. Deserted parks is not a bad thing sometimes. It was a little creepy walking from Frontierland, throught Liberty Square, over to Fantasyland, and not see a single person...where is everyone.:lookaroun

Anyway...back to topic. Once November 2nd rolls around, pumpkins get changed into candy canes.

I agree, it is a little early, but it must be nice for all those on vacation now.

I do wish the bunting wasn't as bright...I kinda dislike it.

OK. Time for the Disney Hater to come out a bashing ... so here goes.

I love Halloween ... really love it. Also love Thanksgiving ... and Christmas too.

But there are seasons. And late August is summer by anyone's definition. Halloween is in autumm, which begins 9/21 ... about a month from now.

Yesterday, I saw a commercial for Sears talking about ... get this ... Christmas shopping now!

Sorry, but holidays and seasons lose something when they are dragged out to make more money for corporations.

This year, WDW will actually hold a Halloween Party on the Friday before Labor Day weekend ... that's a first and it's beyond tacky to me and speaks to the desire to get as many of those $59 second admits as possible (I won't tell you how recently it cost half that for the party!) The last big weekend of summer should be just that ...

It just never ends ... tacky, tacky, tacky.

Welcome to the new age...its the direction that almost all retailers are taking these days...not much can be done about it (brings in revenue).

I wholeheartedly agree, although I don't believe that either of us are Disney haters. :)

I'm surprised that I have yet to see halloween stuff in WalMart. I have seen some candy and some fall items around but no Halloween stuff. Oh, I did see one Christmas decoration in WalMart though...

I like to have my Halloween stuff and Christmas stuff up for 6 weeks. I always start Christmas on the evening before Thanksgiving as we are neevr home on TG anyhow. That way when we do get home from TG dinner I can start decorating my tree and play XMas music and spend the whole Friday getting liberally applying Christmas cheer to my home.

I have definitely seen Halloween candy and such up at some stores. Couldn't remember when I was last in Wal Mart though.

Also, to me the last weekend of AUgust is too early but the 1st week of Sept. is not...

Call me a non-marketing minded traditionalist, but I believe that Halloween belongs to the month of October. For the sake of theme park convenience, maybe the last week of September.
