Halloween decorations now being installed at the Magic Kingdom

It is kinda tacky to do the MNSSHP in early September - but we are still going while we are there. We've never seen it before and this is a good oppurtunity. That being said - the autumn decorations in September don't bother me. To me September means Autumn or at least the start of it. Yes the Halloween stuff should probably wait till the last week of September - but the beautiful autumn decor is certainly appreciated by me!

OK. Time for the Disney Hater to come out a bashing ... so here goes.

I love Halloween ... really love it. Also love Thanksgiving ... and Christmas too.

But there are seasons. And late August is summer by anyone's definition. Halloween is in autumm, which begins 9/21 ... about a month from now.

Yesterday, I saw a commercial for Sears talking about ... get this ... Christmas shopping now!

Sorry, but holidays and seasons lose something when they are dragged out to make more money for corporations.

This year, WDW will actually hold a Halloween Party on the Friday before Labor Day weekend ... that's a first and it's beyond tacky to me and speaks to the desire to get as many of those $59 second admits as possible (I won't tell you how recently it cost half that for the party!) The last big weekend of summer should be just that ...

It just never ends ... tacky, tacky, tacky.

There is a time and a place for everything. Well said.

Thanks. We would love to find a Sally but she seems to be as rare as hens teeth. I am hoping for a cool windless Halloween this year. That 12' inflatable Haunted house is a bear to get up even with a mild breeze and the fog looks so much better when it is not competing with wind.

So is it because of the wind that it looks like it's hanging so close to the ground? I purchased a fog machine after Halloween and am trying to figure out how I'll use it in my setup. It'd be cool if I could get it to hang close to the ground like that. Either way, your house looks awesome.

No the way you get it to hang close to the ground is by running the fog through a chiller. I built this fog chiller with one minor modification. I ran some metal tubing through the wire mesh and into the ice in a cris-cross pattern. They act like heat sinks when the fog flows over them. I have also considered replacing the wire mesh with a solid metal tube and I might try using dry ice on one this year. They are very cheap to build. The most expensive thing was the hole saw but the rest is very cheep especially if you have an old cooler lying around. If you want to build one and need any help drop me a PM.

You could use a foam cooler too I'd think. Have you ever split the tubing so that you have both low lying fog and air borne fog?

You can use a foam cooler but they are not all that durable. You could split the flow but you would be better off getting a second fog machine as most of the $40 or less fog machines that you find would not have the umph to produce enough fog for 2 streams.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the link. I'm definately building one. I got the idea from last year's Halloween Horror Nights at USF. There was a section of the park that was covered with Jack-O-Laterns and filled with fog. It was a really spooky sight to see, so I purchased a whole bunch of Jack-O-Lanterns and that fog machine last year hoping to replicate it.

One thing that I also did that you really cant see in the picture is I put different color lights in each of the pumpkins. Most of them use a standard C9 style Christmas lights. All you need to do is pick a couple packs of multi-color replacement bulbs and you will be good to go. Also I used flexible sewer pipe on the end of the chiller. This lets me put the chiller and fog machine out of view and pipe the fog any where I want.
