LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A July reopening is planned for the Hall of Presidents, an iconic attraction in Magic Kingdom. An Audio-Animatronics version of President Barack Obama will join representations of the previous 43 presidents of the United States as part of an attraction that has been celebrating American history since Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971. Disney Imagineers also are updating a broad array of show elements.

I saw some sites say it's reopening on the 1st

What Disney deems the "official" opening and what really is the opening are too different things. One could realistically expect it to be open to everyone by July 1 or 2, but the earliest anyone will be able to see it for sure are the APs on June 28.

I expect to see lengthy reports on that day.

GREATLY looking forward to seeing this refurb. Looks like they did a stellar job from the facade, to the stage, to the narr.

APs will be able to view the show on June 28th, but the attraction will not be open to the general public on that day.

Disney can determine how quickly or slowly they open the attraction after the 28th. Like SSE, TSM, or any new attraction/refurb, they may invite groups in at certain parts of the day and then close it down the remaining parts. This is part of their testing/'stretch legs' period for the attraction. These days are open to the general public even if not announced.

Typically, an attraction has been fully open and operational for a few weeks before they officially give it the 'Now Open' moniker.

I go down in a few weeks and pray that I will be able to get in there. I think it is going to be an amazing revamp.

From what that article a few weeks back said about the realism of the Obama animatronic, they should.

Plus, unlike the last few President additions, this refurb is more than just adding a President...I think the extensiveness of this refurb deserves the front cover...EPCOT Explorer...do you know the last time this attraction has been on the cover? Must be a long time...

Probably never, but it should now. Maybe have Obama, the attraction building and the castle on the cover with the American flag in the sky background from the end of the show.
