Agreed. Too bad attention was their desire. . .

. . . because they sure got it.

I heard an interview of someone who was at the rehearsal last Tuesday and Justin and Janet were practicing the pig incident.

I think the violent act of ripping her clothes during a very $exual dance sends the wrong message to every kid watching as did the Britney (pig) kiss. This may not bother some of you but it bothers a father of a 12 year old girl who will soon be attending 'socials' at her school. Do I just get on with life when a young stud replicates the halftime events with my daughter? After all, it's just my daughter's breast! And let me tell ya something, the incident was the talk all around her school today so don't try to tell me that it's no big deal, cuz it WAS!

What the hell, why didn't Justin just boink her so we Americans can join the other $exually progressive countries!

:sohappy: :sohappy: Well done, well done. As a father of two daughters, you hit the nail on the head.

Federal Communications Commission chief Michael Powell said in a statement, "Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration. Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt."

Exactly my sentiment.

But the display still raised questions such as: If it was an accident, why did a choreographer promise "shocking moments" in an interview with the Web site MTV.com prior to the show? And how could it be a coincidence with the timing of the words to Timberlake's song "Rock Your Body"?
- Yahoo! News.

The move was sexual enough with or without the actual nudity that Jackson, Timberlake, CBS, and MTV got what they deserved. Not the public, however.

You're right, Griz...entertainers have found that negative publicity can be far more profitable for dying careers (like Janet's) than the effort to revive it with their talent.

Justin Timberlake looks like he smells! :hurl: Take a bath!

This is the reason TV shows are given a rating in the United States. I'm pretty sure there wasn't any warning about (brief) nudity. That makes it morally wrong to add to the already piling legal troubles CBS will have.

Did they plan it? Oh yeah....why would you even attempt something like this on prime time television? If CBS even had a whim of what was going on they should have made sure it was brought off correctly.

And by the by.....the nipple wasn't covered. That was a piercing. A close up picture (look one up perverts), shows the middle of the nipple poking through the middle of the "sun". So it was exposed in every sense of the word.

And Lee, you may not like our American conservativism, but you better respect it. We have laws and morality for a purpose. Just because you don't agree with those laws doesn't make it right for you to shoot off your mouth at the MILLIONS who think it was wrong for the 12 year old boys watching the game to watch it over and over on Tivo.

This was wrong...and planned....period.

I don't think CBS knew it was going to happen. If you were watching when it was happening....they took the camera off of them VERY fast. I do think Justin and Janet planned it. How sad. I think it was the worst halftime show I've ever seen. :hurl:

I finally saw on tv what you are talking about. I tried to google it but got nothing, until I caught it on MTV earlier tonight. It was so fast that of course, I couldn´t really see the details, but wasn´t her nipple covered with some shiny golden stuff? It looked like a star but I wasn´t sure if that was put on top of it for the video, or if she was really wearing something on top of it. I didn´t see the nip, just the golden star.
Oh, and for me, there was NO doubt they rehearsed that! It was totally planned.

The risk was there no matter if it was planned or not. It gave the same message. . . and look what happened.

Brad's definitely on the RIGHT track. :lookaroun :)

You would think they would of had atleast a 2-5 second delay for censorship - if something like this or something worse happened

Nothing like a bit of skin to draw attention away from more important things.

Pay no attention to the huge deficit.
Pay no attention to the poor and jobless.

Shouldn't we be focusing on the problems in our country instead of a question of whether it is proper to show a breast on TV for not even two seconds?

por·nog·ra·phy Pronunciation Key (pôr-ngr-f)
n.

1. $exually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause $exual arousal.

and if that dance wasnt to arouse...well then what was the point? why grab at each other and wear such clothing if not to arouse??

And if the intention was just to rip off the corset and not the red bra...why did it come off so dam easily?? He wasn't ripping at it that hard. They can say the words "wardrobe malfunction" all they want but it doesnt change the fact that this was planned, unnececary, and a HUGE PATHETIC PUBLICITY STUNT
anyone remember Lil' Kim's outfit at the VMA's?? They showed that OVER AND OVER on TONS of network stations... I think the big deal is being made because CBS got caught.

That being said, I have an interesting question to bring up...
Why is it okay for men to prance around without a shirt on and show their (useless) nips all over tv and in public, but when a woman flashes her LIFE GIVING on tv there is such a huge uproar?! seems a little hipocritical to me (now i KNOW she wasnt breast feeding during the halftime show, but the same goes for all of the protesting back and forth ABOUT breastfeeding in public...why is it seen as disgusting??)

I have to say the thing that bothers me is not so much the fact that her breast was showing, but that he tore her clothing off. This may be an over-reaction on my part, due to certain events in my past, but I don't like the implied message.

There are only four things that we can 100% say for certain:
1) Justin is left-handed.
2) That definitely was not Michael Jackson dancing with Justin; like I originally thought.
3) Lil'Kim will probably not be asked to do next year's half-time show.
4) MTV's SuperBowl '39' Half-Time show in 3-D will be cancelled.

I am not a parent yet, but I can imagine how ticked off I would be if that happened and I was watching this show with my kids. ...or ANY show to be honest with you.

kurros - I am no expert on women's underwear (well, not any more at least) but I do not think you can wear a bra with that kind of outfit. Can any ladies (or odd men) verify that? That kind of outfit is intended for the bedroom, not the 50-yard line. Therefore when Justin ripped off that piece, the start was meant to be exposed with the whole 'sha-bang'.
