Guest attacks Disney bus driver

I think the main point here is that OCSO was never involved in the incident. No one seemed to think it important enough to call the police at the time and I'm sure plenty of people had cell phones and know how to dial 911. Later embellishment of the event strains credulity.

I don't complain of people in motorized chairs or wheel chairs or even strollers. I do complain about how many are driven, which sometimes is like a bettering ram. We were with a good friend's dad who needs to use the ECV. He appears able bodied, we know better because, well, we know him. He can go short distances walking but long distances are out of the question. Appearances can be deceiving.

lets get some things correct ! security did not come to the location, OCS, was never called, has a mater of fact security found out the next day !! GSM thought it was no BIG DEAL.... Guest were given a comfortable ride back to there resort. Driver was not reprimanded, but there was a cooling off period, we all might not like that, I know I wouldn't be thrilled with it, but that is the way they do it, length of time would normally be till guest leave area, CM usually is compensated during this time, but not all ways, that's why it's good to be in the union!!!! they will get you any monies due. and from the last time this happened to a driver the union got the company to agree to call OCS, but some GSM did his own thing, driver's getting pushed by guest happens all the time, I know first hand!! GSM's all ways quick to wisk the guest away,

If the validity of goofntink's vs duckwashere's responses is to be judged based on grammar, complete sentences and proper usage of punctuation - goofntink wins.

I'm not really sure what the quoted paragraph even means.

OK, so you make it sound like you were right there in the thick of it, so give us the real scoop. What really happened. You are so sure what didn't happen, so please fill us all in as to what DID happen. So good to know you have access to the OCSO dispatch tapes to know that there were no calls placed. Also good to know that Disney is covering up felonies now.

You claim to know first hand that this happens all the time. Are you the one doing the pushing or are you the one being pushed?

I find it extremely funny how amazingly this new member pops up the day after this incident happens, just to invalidate another member's claim... Either this is a troll, and we are feeding it, or it is a former member trying to stir things up for giggles... In which case, would still make it a troll...

I think each of your assumptions has a 50/50 chance of being right.

First of all...I agree with the sentiments obviously that the guest should be charged/banned for life/ etc.

I also wanted to note that when you have your own car, from my experience on several occassions with buses vs. my own car it is usually MUCH MUCH faster to use the car to go from park to park than to use the Bus system. I'm sorry but it's true. The bus system, from every time I've experienced it has been not a very good one.

I've had to wait 30+ minutes for ONE bus to arrive going from DHS to Epcot, and several other times waited 20+ minutes. It is far from perfect, and I really wish Disney would find better transportation options.

stuart, i am one of the scooter people who takes up a seat but where i rented the scooter says not to remain on scooter on buses. from what a driver told me it is not a choice for a scooter as a wheelchair. the one time i had problems getting on bus was only time i was not first on and people seated would not move from where i had to go to back into space i was told both driver and i asked some to move. one did get toes run over but it was not done to be mean. i was told to pull into isle and back in by the drivers on newer buses. the one time i was on an older bus where i had to back on lift and raised up was easier. seemed to me to take less room to get in but large scooters would not fit on lift. my problem does not show but have a knee that gives out and puts me down when i stand in line. which would make a line take a lot longer waiting for emt's to come and pick me up. :( almost happened at one dinner.

It was reported on another forum that neither party pressed charges according to two local news reports. I think that answers the question of if goofntink's story was valid.

As a CM I say, Yeah right! The union does nothing but take 52 hours of people's pay a year and get people who should be fired re-hired. The union doesn't call the cops, the GSM should.

Hey Mods, I guess you can close this thread now, since it's all been cleared up on another forum and validated by two unnamed news sources.

I really don't understand some people. Why would he have even thrown the child? If he knew he was going to attack THE BUS DRIVER, HE SHOULD HAVE HANDED HIM/HER BACK TO HIS WIFE. What a jerk. I am so glad that justice was served but i'd slap child endangerment on to the charges, as well.

Sometimes buses do take a while and they do get full but to lash out like that is rediculous. Disney provides transportation that costs them millions...they DO NOT have to provide this service. They could easily take it away and force everyone to rent cars or drive there. To even offer the transportation is very kind and convienient of them. This man should have had a little more gratitude.

This video was disgusting, and it's also Reason #247 why I never use the WDW bus system.

If I can't get there via monorail, I drive my rental car wherever I need to go on WDW property and I get there fast, safe, comfortable, and happy.

if the driver were to press charges would he be suspended or terminated or what ?

Terminated for what reason??? Driver did nothing wrong therefore he shouldn't be terminated... If he had decided to press charges, which is within his legal right, Disney would not fire him... Now, if he retaliated and punched the guest, then I would assume Disney would probably have fired the guy..

It doesn't take a genius to do a little google search now does it? It says in the article plain as day that no charges were filed. Nice try GoofNTink, that was a nice little "fairytale". :brick:

And if you put any faith in the news media to tell you anything except what the want you to hear, you'll believe anything. Genius, no I never claimed to be, but I have dealt with the mainstream media enough in he last 27 years to know not to put an ounce in anything they deliver. You want to be a lemming and follow them and hang on their every word, then be my guest. Read into this story what you want. Disney didn't call OCSO, but they don't really know if anyone else did, now do they? Or are you privy to OCSO dispatch tapes too?
