Oh I know. I was kind of kidding. As a snobby San Franciscan it's always bothered me the way the park pretty much ignores one of the most beautiful and most photographed cities in the world. Don't even get me started on that cartoonist Golden Gate Bridge that used span the main entrance. Ugh.
I do love that they included the Palace of Fine arts but a nice Coit Tower, some version of Lombard Street...really they could have just done Pacific Wharf to be more like Fisherman's Wharf I guess but Monterey's wharf is pretty iconic as well. Tough one, trying to balance representing classic CA cities while not putting in too much of any one specific city.

Don't tell that to my 3 year old...he freaking loves that area of the park. It may not be for adults, but it allows little kids to put on their explorer hats and run wild for a bit. It's actually very well done for what it is IMO.

But agreed, we are lacking in quality dark rides over at DCA. As someone who owns a video game console made after 1995, I have a hard time even waiting more than 20 min for TSMM. :)
The Adventure Trail's well done, but it just takes up WAY too much space for what it offers. We could have a E-ticket there for the entire family to enjoy. And, as someone who owns way too many game consoles made after 1995, I still love TSMM. The motion of the vehicles, the great use of 3D, the well-timed live effects and the genuinely fun, carny-style gameplay really work for me. It offers a unique experience no game console can ever match. Agree though, 20 min wait is about my top for it. I recommend catching it during WoC, which I am not a huge fan of.

I'm not going to lie, the thought of falling to The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb" does sound appealing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still not happy the decision in general.

I guess it could be considered appealing in a different way. But Macabre it is not.

My friends and I are planning to take a group photo on the ride this October before it is ruined.

That's a good idea. I'll probably try to sit in the front and buy the photo.( Havent bought a ride photo since the mid 90's) Look at that! In the words of the great Charlie Sheen, Disneyland is still WINNING!

If we must lose DCA's version of the Haunted Mansion, could we at least get a version of Mystic Manor rethemed as the Winchester Mystery House for the SF area? Just take out everything between Goofy's Sky School and Little Mermaid.

I'd love for some sort of creepy attraction to come to dca. Although, if they do it'll most likely be connected to some IP. I wouldn't mind seeing an NBC or Villains themed spookhouse in PP.

If you don’t mind the question, would you not be renewing because of ToT or is there more to it?

Partly. My wife and I Discussed (for about a solid 5 minutes one time) if we want to take a year off or Renew. So we were kind of the on the fence anyway. My favorite ride in DLR getting ruined for no reason at all, certainly doesn't help.

I currently have the Premium but I might downgrade to the So Cal select.

If they're willing to switch up the playlist a bit, I'd like to hear Springsteen's "Going Down" or Pretty Poison's "Catch Me, I'm Falling."

I think Aero Smith's "Love in an elevator" or Tom Petty's "Free Falling" would work. I'll have to try alternate soundtracks tomorrow when I'm at the park.

It's very well done, arguably one of the best free play kids attractions Disney has ever produced and is a fun place for adults to explore too. Every square inch of a Disney park doesn't have to be a ride or revenue generator in order for it to be good or worthwhile. No question that DCA is short on certain quintessential Disney marquee attractions, but I think completely removing one of the park's few thoughtfully landscaped areas for a big headlining E ticket dark ride would be unfortunate. A Bugs Land would be a better choice for that type of expansion in my opinion.

I agree it's well done and not every square inch of any park should be headliners. Believe me, Tom Sawyer Island and Storybook Land are two places I'd never want removed from DL. But given a choice between keeping the Adventure Trail and putting something like Mystic Manor there, I know how I'd vote. :D
