I think so.

Speaking of the date, this is now opening in the spring. It's debuting in just three months; my expectations are low.

I mean I hope we re wrong. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I've kind of given up hope on the exterior but still holding out hope that they will add something to the ride experience (specifically the show scenes) that we don't see coming. You know like actually improve something from TOT besides the randomized ride profiles / drop sequences (which the thought of is cool but if Star Wars 2.0 is any indication I would rather they to stick to one strong storyline.)

I don't know, we'll see. I was thinking it would open in July or August. It's opening in May and the news stunned me.

Agreed, why does it have to have multiple scenarios? Just stick to one stupid plot and call it a day.

They weren't low already?

LMAO Trust me, they already were. I should have said " have lowered." It's opening sooner than I thought.

Yeah, we saw how well multiple scenarios worked for Star Tours.

I do think it has a better shot of working with GOTG though because of the shorter show scenes, the fact that the show scenes are on different levels and the physical nature of the ride.

Ya what's up with that? When I pop 'GoodFellas' into the blu ray player I don't expect a different ending every time. Lol. But the fact that im using a blu ray player means I'm probably not the target demographic.

I think the main reason DCA just doesn't stack up to Disneyland is because it's not Disneyland. But you're right, the park doesn't feel cohesive, and now it's really not going to, with an entire Marvel area apparently coming.
Kinda like DHS. It really is a hodgepodge and dare I say, DCA probably felt more cohesive with regards to a CA story in it's original incarnation. Most of the stuff back then really did celebrate California. Now, Marvel, Mermaid, Monsters and Cars Land...I'm fine with the latter even though it wasn't set in CA, it just still kinda feels CA and the car culture.

That's exactly what I mean.
Hercules was an OK movie that tried too hard to please everyone. Peter Pan is more like it. But quite frankly I am amazed today's Disney Company has not given it the "Song of the South" treatment due to it's depiction of Indians.

The difference is that Peter Pan is a great and extremely popular film with a couple of uncomfortable moments of product-of-its-time stereotyping (which is somewhat balanced by having Tiger Lilly be such a brave, noble character). The film is worth keeping out there in the public eye. Song of the South is a mediocre, boring movie with moments of animated greatness. Song of the South is *not* a film worth risking a company's (or CEO's) public image over. If it were a genuinely great movie capable of generating lots of income, it would be a different story.

and the ride based on it does a better job anyway.
