Maybe it’s 45 minutes long like Energy was.
It'd be fun until you realize the ride operator stapled you into your seat and your legs go numb.
In terms of track length, is Mindbender the longest enclosed coaster, Temple of the Night Hawk 2nd, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster 3rd? "One of the world's longest" isn't saying much here. The only firm thing it tells us is that it won't be the longest.
They weren't clear on track length or ride time. Track length doesn't really matter since you could get through it in all of 60 seconds. Ride time would be a more interesting statistic but then again if you average 5mph the whole time, then could it be considered a coaster or worlds most uncomfortable omnimover?

This is some useless fact they're trying to spin. Almost as good as Kings Dominion using "Tallest coaster on the east coast" for Intimidator 305 back in 2010. What about Kingda Ka? Oh I guess that must be northern east coast? And I suppose Top Thrill Dragster is considered mid-west then? This is marketing I'd expect from Cedar Fair or Six Flags, not Disney.

If you're going to state a record, go big or go home. Example here from Steel Vengeance. Yes a lot of those are pretty dumb records, but they can safely claim being #1 with all of them.

I wouldn't mind it being similar to The Mummy or Gringotts. I think those have a nice blend of different elements that make them more than just a rollercoaster. I like rollercoasters, but something similar to Space Mountain/RnR would just be kind of lame.

I'm really struggling to imagine what "unique" ride systems haven't been done.
At Six Flags here in so cal we have coasters where you stand, sit in chairs that can do flips,
tracks that run above and below, coasters where you ride flat like you're flying...

Are we talking unique to the world, or unique to WDW?

In terms of duration, Temple of the Nighthawk is 4 minutes, right?
I guess it doesn't count since it's not "fully-enclosed", and it's debatable whether it's a true roller coaster, but the Calico Mine ride at Knott's Berry Farm can last 7 minutes or longer, depending on the operator.

I would love something like that as well, and was honestly expecting that when I heard the announcement, knowing how much fun they could have with different show scenes using the Guardians characters since I personally thought Mission Breakout was a lot of fun because of the interactions with the characters, but it's been stated a lot of times on this thread that it will not be something like that and more of just a plain coaster for the ride and then good show scenes in the queue.. something like that... which is sad.

I bet you it some sort of "on-board" something or other with otherwise relatively standard seating... like on-board VR or an on board TV monitor system for some reason or an on-board water effect... could even be some sort of interactive feature where pushing a button in your seat makes something happen off the ride or maybe something where the louder you scream, the more big/wild/crazy the explosions/lights off the ride become...

Seems most likely. Though I think I would rule out a feature the guest has to physically interact with. That seems kind of chaotic on a coaster, unless its at a point where the coaster could slow down like during Gringotts.

So, just like Space Mountain but with Smell-O-Vision? ;)
I was going to reply something similar...but different. When BTMRR gets the explosion scene it's viewed as incredible - when this coaster gets "added extras" (ie at minimum I'd expected the equivalent of an explosion scene) we view it as a failure. What if the ride system is fairly standard but the immersion and tech surrounding it are ground breaking/executed flawlessly. Just because it's GOTG moving into EPCOT/Energy doesn't mean it's going to automatically underwhelm.

I get really sad when Chapek continues spewing his "more family, more timeless, more relevant, more Disney" mantra about Epcot's reinvention. It's almost like he's trying to convince himself that is what's really happening.
I think he trying to convince investors and the fans as well. Does he really believe it? I doubt it. He probably doesn't even understand or know about the park's creation and rich history.

Honestly, IMO, it could be the best, most amazing coaster on the planet...and I'd still look at it unfavorably based on where it was put and the justification for its existence in the first place.

I think Bob Chapek looks at Epcot and says: "We need a movie IP there, and there, and there, and there... Got one going in there... Need one there... Wait, that's Nemo. Can we add a second movie IP there?"

@marni1971 Being as I am not a fan of rollercoasters (I do love BTMMR, 7DMT, and SM though), can you define family friendly? Would it be along that intensity level if you can say? Thanks.
