Ah, yes, judging things before they're even completed. Yay for this board!

track record isnt giving Disney much favor....they haven't earned it....mermaid is the most glaring example of budget cookie cutter approach. Also i dont think we can argue too much how disney for whatever reason gete far less value for there dollar. it costs 20 dollars to do something that used to cost 5. Likely a compounding series of issues of managment, budget alocation, labor costs ect.

That's not unique to Disney. Movie theaters, sporting events, and other things have seen prices balloon.

As I noted above, plans change. WDW fans of all people should be aware of that. Let's judge the finished product once we actually have it.
How many times will it take for Disney to premier a new attraction that is lackluster in comparison to the timeless, awe inspiring attractions they once created, for people to stop the insanity of the "wait and see" approach? Are they churning out absolute crap? Of course not. But they arent blowing our socks off either.

All of us did the "wait and see" with FLE (phase 1), then TT 2.0, then Little Mermaid, 7DMT, all of the Frozen parties at HS, then FEA. We have "waited" patiently enough, yet we keep getting served mediocrity. But for someone reason, people continue to think that the next time, or the next attraction, will be different.

Well, a lot of that schlock is praised...

So what should we do about it?

What truly needs to be done will likely not come to pass. Guests need to begin vacationing elsewhere in significant numbers. As awful as it may sound, Disney is selling a product. The quality of its product will not significantly change unless there is a change in the demand. When they build it, whatever that it happens to be, guests still come.

If guests are truly outraged over the Marvelification of Tower of Terror, then they should have stopped visiting Disney California Adventure. Guests have power. They simply need to send a message with their dollars. In this case, it is a matter of taking their vacation dollars elsewhere.

I think FEA is a good example of "wait and see" actually working pretty well.
I wasn't confident it was going to be any good, but it turned out to be pretty good IMO.

The IP and the Norway pavillion deserved better, but in a vacuum, it's a nice ride.

Yeah, the only other thing to do before taking that step would be to vote with your feet within the parks (visit attractions you want to see succeed, bypass ones you feel go against what you wish to see happen), seek out surveys (though those are often worded in ways that don't serve a cause like that too well), or more importantly actually take the time to write out a letter to management stating your concerns, a polite one that emphasizes that you are a long time paying guest who wishes to continue being one, but feel great concern about the parks' creative directions.

However all of that, as you say, will not have anywhere near the impact of voting with your wallet and simply spending your money elsewhere for a vacation. As somebody who tries to get down to Orlando once every one or two years and who still loves to spend plenty of time walking around the World Showcase (among other things), I can't say I'm fully prepared to do that just yet, but I'll see how my feelings evolve as the changes roll along.

It is happening though, and with Disney's own admission in their reports. WDW attendance is dropping :)

I think it's an excellent ride. If it had been built roughly where Be Our Guest Restaurant is as part of FLE, I would have been very pleased.

Another reasonable option would've been where Star Wars Launch Bay currently is.
So, name a location where Haunted Mansion would be better located? Or where Horizons "should" have been built. Or where POTC would fit better.

They used to build, (not refurb) great attractions AND in a proper area and setting. Not anymore.
