Well, I'm taking a couple of chances with my picks and hoping they pay off. I'm generally pretty bad at these, and the fact that this is truly a sport where anything can and invariably will happen... I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

Please prepare your son for another disappointing experience next Wednesday as our boys intend to win again :D Even at the price of throwing Poland out of the tournament :lol:

This is the fron of the apartment building where I live. All buildings and streets have very similar decorations, with these plastic stripes hanging from the ceiling, or tied to lampposts on the streets. Lots of flags, too.

Great pics. Over here everything is decorated as well and there's a millon products themed for soccer. Bread shaped like a football, fottball wrappers oir containers, you can collect points for product to be redeemed for fan-garb, etc.

Although, Jens Lehmann didn't seem like he was really stopping anything. I have him in one of my fantasy leagues and he finished with 0 saves vs 2 Goals Allowed. If Poland gets their act together, it might finish as a Draw... or an upset.

Ah, well... I took a chance and it backfired. I had originally had The Netherlands winning their match, but decided to change it to a Draw. One less point for me, now.

Man... I picked Australia v Japan as a draw. Thought I had it when Australia scored late in the game... didn't think they would go on a scoring string at the end and finish with 3.

And the US... what can I say about the US? I did pick them to lose, though. So at least I got that going for me, which is nice.

I've been out of town and unable to post for a few days. Luckily, I've been able to watch quite a few games, and I was really fired up for this one. What a let down. I haven't even checked the league standings. What's really disappointing is that I've watched this team play a lot and they are better than they showed. If this was the 90's, I wouldn't be a bit disappointed, now I'm disappointed and a bit angry. Maybe that's a sign US soccer is progressing?
