I was really pulling for T&T to win their match today since it would have meant that they would have advanced if Sweden had lost. Oh well, at least England advanced. And the US still has a chance on Thursday. As far as the updating goes, once they know who all the teams are that have advanced, I'm sure ESPN will update everything.

I just found out last night that the next World Cup after this will be South Africa 2010...

The kids seem to like them. :D they are lemon and cherry flavored.
When our son watches the games with his dad, he's such a riot. He likes to talk as if he knows exactly what's going on. Sometimes he does, sometimes he's just repeating what sounds good to him. Like, "Poland smoked Costa Rica" today. You should have heard him lay into the referee during the Italy/USA match.

Yummmm.... cherry popsicles.... they must be really good. How old is your son?

Ah, I was wondering where it would be. Thanks

Yeah, I found that out when I was looking up information about a team called the "Orlando Pirates." I wasn't sure where they played and found out that they were in South Africa, then saw information about the 2010 World Cup being played there.

That was decided 2years ago. So it's not exactly news. :animwink:
For us it's great as South Africa is just one timezone ahead of us, which makes for comfortable watching again :D Korea/Japan in 2002 sucked due to the huge time difference.

Yes, but I didn't know it. Heck, I didn't know until last year that this World Cup was in Germany.

Going into this tournament I told my son that the US would be lucky to make it out of the first round. Of course, I thought it was because of Italy and Czech Republic, not Ghana. Now I'm almost kinda pulling for them to do well... almost.

GO ENGLAND!!!

or, if they do well today,

GO AUSTRALIA!!!

Can we say the U.S. is overrated losing to Ghana and being dropped in the 1st Round.

I would say yes, taht the U.S. was overrated. But more that Ghana is underated. Let's be honest, no one gave them a shot.

Plus, that PK in the 47th minute? A joke.

Well, Brazil x Japan starts in 15 minutes. People are calmer today, as Brazil can lose the game, and it's ok. So, they are already celebrating... There are some people rooting for Japan, as the coach is an old Brazilian soccer idol. As usual, I don't give a damn...

I'm kind of torn between which game to watch. Luckily, ESPN and ESPN2 are right next to each other (channels 30 and 29 respectively). I think I'll spend the majority of my time around Australia v. Croatia.

In which case, I don't know who to root for...

True enough, but if the US had played to their potential, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Yes, I don't think Donovan even showed up this year. It's a shame we didn't advance. I'm hoping soccer becomes more popular is the U.S.

I am rooting for Brazil and Austrailia, not that I have anything on it. :lookaroun

I love the World Cup. :)

Holy CRAP.

Did anyone else see the Croatia v. Australia match?

The second half was the most riveting television I've seen in my entire life.
