Garden Grill restaurant permanently immobile? No.

But aside from the Yeti it isn't Disney creating that impression. It's the posters here that keep repeating it. And it kind of seems like they did. When I joined here things had been much worse and there was much less talk about it. Then Harry potter opens and suddenly everyone thinks maintenance at Disney has become terrible when it's only gotten better (in general).

I have seen them do some very good things and they ARE fixing a LOT of things (Splash refurb last year was stellar, they're fixing Astro Orbiter, they're working on Carousel of Progress, the expanded Harambe at Animal Kingdom, look at all the walls and tarps up in MK). Instead of people apprecating they ARE working on things, all I see are gripes that tarps are up, too many walls, etc.

I agree with you that it seems Universal has caused people to think they can do no wrong and Disney can't do anything right. I agree that attitude is frustrating.

And I also agree with the other posters that it just isn't the Yeti, and I hate hearing that argument "well most people don't know this effect, or the Yet even moved, etc." That doesn't excuse things not getting fixed.

I am not going to do the work for you. But, search for @marni1971 he has made a few VERY comprehensive lists of broken/removed effects. Saying it's JUST the Yeti is patently ridiculous.

Sorry, I didn't feel like retyping a post I had made a page earlier. Yes it's the Yeti+, but the yeti is the main one that people cite. My point has been that many things people continue to assume are broken aren't.

Alright. If you think the Monorail Cabins are in good shape, I am fighting a battle I can't win. Buh-bye.
Yeah, I gave up on him when he said nothing was wrong with Splash prior to its last major refurb. Its absolutely true that effects may be broken from time, but on Splash it was the continued documented problems not getting addressed. And yes, maintenance has improved as of late in many areas, but certainly not in the monorail cabins, once again he's showing his penchant for sticking his head up his...oh wait...in the sand.

If it is repeated enough, Disney may realize that while their prices continue to rise, there are people that notice Maintenance is slipping...as is show quality...No The Sky is not falling, but it is good to have objective eyes out there that notice things...in order to keep the quality of the product intact.

I never claimed nothing was wrong with splash before the refurb - only that when I rode it was fine, that I had seen in much worse shape years before, and that people continue to claim it's in terrible shape AFTER the refurb.

I'm at the world on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis. Forgive me for assuming if every time I board a monorail it looks fine that the examples on the Internet are isolated incidents or have been fixed. What am I supposed to think: that they repaired it especially for me and will dirty it up the second I leave?

And thank you for such civil imagery.

I see what you did there... but last I checked, I don't see Expedition Everest as a walk on and people not riding it because the yeti used to move. It was awesome when it did... but it happens so fast, well...what is there today still works too...just isn't as good as before for those of us who experienced it. For those who experience it for the first time today could care less...they still love it.

Thank you for proving my point. The Yeti isn't the main part of the ride. Rotating IS a main part of the Garden Grill. Take a look around social media and see how well noticed it was. Disney had no option but to fix it, whether they wanted to or not.

completely agree with you... I just thought it was comical how most were saying it'll never be fixed and it's down forever now

Personally, I think the main point of the Garden Grill is the fresh, organic fruits, vegetables and fish grown right next door. That clean taste of the fruits and veggies is a direct result of the the hydroponic growing techniques.

Actually, you claimed that Splash was in great shape "last week" when you rode it, "(s)ame as every time (you've) ridden it in the past ten years."

And there are equally are hundreds of effects and features that people assume are gone forever and in fact aren't. And furthermore the seemingly "common knowledge" now that anything that breaks at WDW is never fixed. Which is flat out wrong. Case in point: Splash Mountain. People are always complaining that it's a shell, in horrible condition etc. etc. Just rode last week and everything was working fine. Same as every time I've ridden it in the past ten years.

"when I rode it was fine, that I had seen in much worse shape years before" does not in any way/shape/form equal "Just rode last week and everything was working fine. Same as every time I've ridden it in the past ten years."

Don't try to backtrack on what you initially stated when it's only a few pages back in this same thread and it's oh-so-easy to re-quote you.

I thought it hasn't been like that since the late 80's or maybe prior to the Epcot 94 rebranding? A CM friend told me that the Living With The Land is just for show and not really being used for the restaurant. And no, she does not drive the bus.

Social media and public outcry had nothing to do with it being fixed.. it was being done anyway.

Public outcry has no impact on anything because the money flows in either way.. just ask Mr toad and anyone that was interested in options for future living

Where would you like to start?

BTW Splash 2008-2012 swerved from bad to diabolical. The recent refurb was exceptional and it HAD to be. Not just for show either.

New management programs taking effect. Can't close down everything for repair.

Notice we no longer hear of crisis with the attractions with refurbs that were done right. HM, HoP, Tiki, Splash, Space Mountain, to name a few.

Times have changed. Improvements will continue. PPF is next it seems.

If you think Space Mountain was done right then sorry dude, you are either naive or ignoring facts. Facts well documented on this site at the time.

Tiki wasn't well managed either btw. But you probably knew that too.

hopefully the trend on fixing things that are wrong... continues.

Hopefully the weak maintenance routines are also upgraded to what disney used to be (top notch maintenance)... constant improvement is what I hope. (edited for clarity)
