Garden Grill restaurant permanently immobile? No.

Social media and public outcry had nothing to do with it being fixed.. it was being done anyway.

Public outcry has no impact on anything because the money flows in either way.. just ask Mr toad and anyone that was interested in options for future living

So, social media means nothing? So you think KFC planned on donating 30k to that little girl's family had the story not gone viral? And my point was that word was spreading
that it wasn't rotating and people were saying that they were cancelling or not booking the joint. That's where the money "stops flowing in".

For the record, I hardly notice things that are wrong at WDW, I'm simply giving my opinion as to why this issue was fixed.

I'm saying that social media had no impact on this particular situation.. It was being addressed either way... If the repair was that costly and time consuming, do you REALLY believe social media over the last 9 days would have been enough to sway them? That combined with the fact that the entire flooring has been replaced (or is being replaced).. All part of the same project... for the record, it wasn't broken, it was being refurbed... would you have preferred they close the eatery while that was done?

But sometimes social media just doesn't work. (I disney's case... the Yeti for example).
It all depends on damage mitigation, cost benefit and type of issue.
the KFC case was clearly social (the kid getting discriminated and told to leave) and could cause a huge ruckus.

Since you seem to have trouble reading what I personally have said in this thread, feel free to glance over posts #117 and 294. While I did say that social media spots were being semi-flooded with people complaining, I didn't list that as the REASON it was fixed. I stated that it was fixed because it was a main "selling point" of the restaurant and bookings for the place would suffer if the issue wasn't corrected. Social media just helps spread the word about it quicker than pure word of mouth. Now, if you're just looking to argue with me then feel free to message me. Otherwise, at least quote me correctly.

Who are all "the sky is falling people"? Who are all the "naysayers"? These blind loyalist morons make it seem as if hundreds of people on here were saying its never going to be fixed. Looking back over the first 5 or 6 pages I dont see who they are talking about. The loyalists have been defending current managements neglect for so long that they feel the need to brand anybody who questions anything a "sky is falling" person now? They are always the first to point out if a toilet is unclogged as proof of Disneys commitment to excellence and the last to admit there is a problem. Especially one as glaring and ongoing as the monorails.

Disney fixed GG and its rotating again, thats great news, but dont take it as some sort of victory for yourself over the "sky is falling" crowd. Those people are on your side whether you realize it or not, they actually have more love for Disney than you because they are willing to take their emotions up with Disney, not with another fan of Disney. Which group makes more of an impact with TWDC, the people who write emails and tell management about their concerns, or the people who just complain about the complainers?

Did we get mythbusters in there to confirm that the restaurant was rotating and not the building around the restaurant? Has it been considered that the Earth's rotation has been altered instead?
ROTATION BUSTED!

There is no rotation.. its all our imagination as the Planet rotates around the sun!

If you think Space Mountain was done right then sorry dude, you are either naive or ignoring facts. Facts well documented on this site at the time.

Tiki wasn't well managed either btw. But you probably knew that too.
Clearly, Space wasn't done "right". However, I do think it shows that noticeable improvements can be made even with stripped-down budgets. I really like the new sound (better than the on-board at Disneyland) and the reconfiguring of the line improved things as well. Sure, more could certainly have been done, but at least what was done (silly queue games aside) was helpful.

In all honesty, the new sound system (the one publicised) is in a real mess.

That is too bad. I haven't been in 2 1/2 years (4 disneyland and 1 tokyo trips in the meantime), but I really liked it when we rode in late 2010 and 2011. I thought it sounded great.
