Garden Grill restaurant permanently immobile? No.

PS, that track piece is already back.. not sure if anyone has mentioned it or not

Probably not, because no one seems to pay attention when stuff is improved or working as it should. So an effect is broken for 24 hours and people on the web think it's been for 2 years (yeti aside). Can we start making threads every time something is fixed and/or returned/updated? I'm pretty sure they'd quickly outnumber all the posts on broken things and put to rest the idea that maintenance at the world is terrible.

No, guys, please, prove us wrong and that that there actually aren't dozens of effects and features around WDW that have been broken for years or never return??

Because there totally are. Stop posting.

And there are equally are hundreds of effects and features that people assume are gone forever and in fact aren't. And furthermore the seemingly "common knowledge" now that anything that breaks at WDW is never fixed. Which is flat out wrong. Case in point: Splash Mountain. People are always complaining that it's a shell, in horrible condition etc. etc. Just rode last week and everything was working fine. Same as every time I've ridden it in the past ten years.

Yes there are issues, particularly with the Yeti (which has legitimate operations reasons at this point for holding off on repair), Dinosaur, Ellen's Energy Adventure, maybe a few other things, but my frustration comes from people constantly harping on any and every little thing that happens for however brief a time, automatically jumping to the worst conclusions, when 98% of the time they are addressed and quickly.

I mean, we have dozens lamenting popcorn or ice cream on the floor of the monorail as evidence of declining standards. That's evidence of obnoxious guests. Really? What is Disney supposed to do - come in with Mr. Clean at every stop and delay departure for 2 minutes to clean?

So harping on those harping makes it all better?

Unfortunately no, but I don't feel enough attention is brought to this discrepancy - fostering the very negative perceptions towards WDW that this board has more and more of. Enough of that for now though, sorry for hijacking the thread. I'm glad we have people willing to do the hard work of recording a restaurant rotating at 1 rph

Stop with this. While I agree with what @draybook said in that its drastically effecting profit so of course they were going to fix it; TDO has given PLENTY of reasons to worry about broken effects and features never being fixed.

Huh? That wasn't my point.....

My point is so many people went nuts that the "sky is falling" when Garden Grill stopped rotating (blaming TDO) and then the same about the track piece missing on EE......and it seemed no one wanted to think it was only temporary. Jeez.

I really don't understand why everyone jumped to the conclusion that they would never fix it (yes, I know , yeti...,) but this is not the first time it has broken and I'm sure it won't be the last. I remember it breaking a few years ago like in 2008 or 09 ish and they fixed it.

To the folks mad and miffed about this being stationary and thinking it was never going to be fixed I say good on you and continue to do so. Because if everyone was alright with it nothing would ever get done. When fans get disgruntled at stuff like this it shows they care and it shows tdo people are not happy with a situation they can fix.

The real issue should be (not worrying about what posters are "bashing" Disney) is how Disney has let their fans even question or worry about things not getting fixed. We all SHOULD have faith that things will get fixed. And while I do think things have gotten a bit better, they have proven more times than not that saving a buck and not spending the cash matters more than guest satisfaction. And excusing away their behavior by jumping on anyone who dares to point things out, doesn't help anything either. It's not bashing Disney when someone points out that the Yeti doesn't work, that there are audio issues in MANY rides, that the Carousel of Progress was looking terrible ... that's not bashing. Those are facts. And because a down water feature, or a late-running monorail doesn't necessarily matter to *you* (not pointing out one person) it DOES affect someone else and their trip, so instead of saying they are worried about the wrong thing, how about the fact that a lot of people just don't trust the company to fix things like they used to. THAT'S the problem.

Pointing out something doesn't work, that's not bashing or being negative either. Are certain things treated a little bit too dramatically as if the sky were falling ... of course.

I do agree about the Everest track though and the overreaction to that.

It cracks me up at all the "sky is falling people" that freaked out over this and the missing track piece on Everest. Can't wait to hear the excuses as to why y'all jumped off the deep end.

Wow, I need an excuse to have an opinion on a forum board. How about the fact that it was reported that CMs who worked there said it would not be fixed. Is that enough of an "excuse", Oh Mighty Judge?
I guess to some people "temporary" could mean anything, since more than three months went by until this was fixed. Is the Yeti just temporarily out of order, too? After all, it's only been years, and they could fix it "someday."

The above quote in red completely destroys any credibility you hope to gain by complaining about posters here fearing this effect would not be fixed. The problems with Splash prior to its most recent refurbishment have been documented quite well on this very site. Simply put, by bringing up Splash you justify the fears of those who doubted this would be fixed due to TDO cost/benefit calculations. At the same time by commenting that Splash has been in perfect working order with all effects, you've proved you're no Sherlock Holmes when it comes to powers of observation.
