About 80 press people from around the world that report on Hollywood They have had people accuse them of voting for the big name stars so they can hang out with them at all the parties.

Yeah, the Golden Globes were always kind of more a drunken Hollywood party than the Academy Awards.

U 2 wasn't even placed second in mosts peoples list to win, it was fourth. I can only pray this doesn't happen at the Academy awards for once the song actually deserves it.

Well, haven't having heard the U2 song (and not even knowing if it will be nominated), Let It Go does strike me as more the kind of song that the Academy loves to hand out awards to.

One could only hope, but now I am worried. I have a feeling Mandela's death might have had more to do with this than the actual song itself.

Curses, you're right! The Academy DOES like to hand out awards for bullcrap sentimental reasons and not the actual merits from time to time, don't they?

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not right now lol But yes they do. They have done it before, and it won't stop them from doing it again. Also I just read that article @RandomPrincess and its astounding if that's the case, why does anyone give this award any merit then?

Because it's famous people getting awards in fancy outfits! It's also been around for 71 years so it just became a thing over time.

Astounding or not, the Globes are often a very accurate predictor for the Academy Awards.
