You can't have it both ways.

True: There is no sign stating "free refills."
Also true: There is no sign stating "no free refills."

You can't claim that the absence of a sign proclaiming my position is proof of your own position.

Of course they can. I don't think anyone is questioning their right to do so.

So we actually agree...and the rest is nonsense.

I do try to point that out in these cases. This isn’t as subjective as a Star Wars debate.

...several times, typically.

Those owners actually bought out an amusement park here in Birmingham, Alabama. The park used to be a really fun water park/amusement park about 15 years ago then the owners went bankrupt. They shut down/sold most of the amusement rides and it was bought by another company that opened up just the water park portion. They ended up selling to the now current owners who are slowly getting it back to how it used to be. It is nice to have free parking, sunscreen, and drinks, especially when our other nearest park (Six Flags Over Ga) charges like $30 to park

Holiday World is actually a lot closer to me than Cedar Point.. we’ll make it there someday.

I hope your local park keeps growing.. sounds like that company does have a lot of included benefits!

That’s awesome! I wasn’t aware of the drunk policy, but I have looked into visiting Santa Claus IN and Holiday World.. that’s one more incentive!
You should totally go! You would love it. Great coasters and fab water park. Food is very reasonably priced too. There’s some great cottages about a mile away that are great too.

Sorry to the OP for my post getting off topic.

Soda is the popular, and populist, scapegoat for those who don't understand the human body and the true problem - carbohydrates. There is no human biological need for carbohydrates. Yet you've been programmed that you need to eat them morning, noon, and night. Why is that? Because they are cheap, easy to make, and "make you feel good", perhaps? Easy to get you hooked on, maybe? Hmmm... I hear people say, "drink coffee, it's better for you". Yeah, after they add in a bunch of sweeteners, what's their point, exactly?

The good old fashioned American breakfast of eggs and bacon (and/or sausage) isn't actually the evil thing it's been made out to be. It's a heck of a lot better than eating toast, an english muffin, oatmeal, etc.

Forgive me if this has been brought up already, I only skimmed certain pages...but did disney ever fix the length of time the drinks run out of the machines? I remember seeing a family put a drink that had a barcode on the machine, and then tilt a thermas they brought with them under the fountain to fill up with soda and then they got two drinks by beating the system. I'm not in the food courts enough to see if anyone else has done this since then, or if it still even works. Always bothered me.

There are lots of people who still link dietary cholesterol with blood cholesterol, even though correlation between the two has been pretty thoroughly debunked. Lots of people think eggs are the source of all heart trouble due to the high cholesterol content in the yolks, but you can eat three whole eggs every morning with no adverse effects, assuming you're otherwise healthy.

My opinion, and an honest question: How many people truly loved their first drink of soda? I'm betting not many.

I still remember the taste when trying Coke-a-Cola at a family friend's house. I was about 10. Tasted like nasty medicine. I did learn to like it in time, but I believe any of those chemical concoctions are a learned behavior. A kid won't guzzle down soda because he likes it - it is totally a learned social behavior.

Yeah... tell that one to my dad.

Too be fair, drinking soda is drinking a ton of carbohydrates.. which is damaging enough, the big evil of soda is that you’re drinking it while consuming even more carbohydrates.. or drinking in between meals and not feeling full.

I whole heartedly agree that eggs and (turkey) bacon are a much better breakfast option than bread.

Most of this is wrong. Just so everyone is aware.

Well, considering this is a thread about soda... I made my comment on another poster’s comment regarding soda.:hilarious:
And yes, soda consumption is a major contributor to obesity. It’s drinking empty calories.
It's not so much the soda, it's the HFCS. Americans drank Coke for decades without getting fat.

My wife (20 years in the medical field) and I have done a lot of research around this. It's not wrong, unless you're a "nutritionist" or "registered dietician" or other such close-minded people who's jobs depend on getting people to consume carbs. I've gotten rid of almost all carbs from my diet. As a result, my weight is down, cholesterol is down, my mind is clearer, and I no longer have any sort of blood sugar swings after meals.
