I saw on another site that the Free Dining Plan is back for August 13 - September 30. Does anyone know if you can get this deal if you check in on the 30th? This deal might be our only chance to take a trip to the world this year! I hope so!

I just feel odd thinking about carrying around a room key card as admission like months later. I guess a ticket is a ticket - note to self, throw out the room key cards i have laying around or use a sharpie to mark it.

It does mean i'd be paying rack rate for the AP renewal and have to do it at Guest Services though, right?
Hey there again, I had paid the renewal price as I got my AP within the 30 days of it's expiration. You are correct about the Guest Services thing. I was able to do this at the guest services area in MGM with no issue!! Belle

I just booked this special for 9/16-20 (by the way, thank you Evan from Kingdom Konsultant for all your work on this. By far the easiest Disney booking I have ever had). For all the people who went last year when this special was on, did it effect the crowd levels in a big way compared to a normal September.

My pleasure...if you need anything else or know anyone else who wants to go drop me an email.

It only effected the nicer places to eat. I called 90 days in advance to get some reservations and most of the places (Cindy's....) were already booked. The attendance seemed the same as in years past. I think it's a trade, many don't want to risk the hurricanes anymore and many are discovering the deals and lower attendance. I'm sure if they keep this deal in the years to come it will affect it however.

but do hurricanes really ruin much more than a day or two??? i'd trade a day of down time for 8 days of free food for my family in a heartbeat.

I Actually asked the same question and in theory, the answer is no. Because the ticket was sold to Jimbo Jones, only Jimbo can use it. As it is a one day ticket and will NOT be biometrically encoded until it's first use, I dont see how it can be tracked. There is another option, the dollar value of the pass can be saved ( Dont use the pass at all) and applied to an upgrade of a ticket such as the renewal of an Annual Pass. Belle

Belle,

So does this means that I can renew my pass, which expires on Sep. 12, and apply the $63.00 to the renewal price!?!? Thanx for any help on this.

If a cat4 or cat5 hurricane comes in head-on anywhere Melbourne to Cocoa Beach it would mess up a heck of a lot more than a Disney day or two. In fact, if it was a 4 or 5 it is debatable about whether some Disney attractions would still be on the map ..... including the airports .....

We have just been 'lucky' in Orlando so far .....

It may not be $63.00 but there will be some dollar amount applied. I know when I did this last year I am sure I didnt get the full value of a 7 day hopper pass upon trade in. I cant speak as to what the trade in value would be. Belle

I'm not going to debate hurricane stability with you, but storms usually pass in AT THE MOST 3 days... and i can still ride SGE all i want.

By the time a storm reaches as far inland as WDW is - which is roughly between Tampa and Orlando, fairly far inland - they have been downgraded. The chances of anything being really destroyed at WDW are small.

if the big ball rolls into the lagoon, is that considered a hole in one?

I have just booked a trip from 9/26-10/1. I realize the importance of booking ps soon and would like some suggestions. (This may not be correct forum to ask, but you all seem to be up on dining.)
I am traveling with wife and 6 year old son. I think we will arrive late on the 26th staying at movies. Not sure when we are leaving on 1st. Have the following plans and would like suggestion on 5th meal or any other suggetions you might have. Son is not picky eater, but likes basic food. Sorry for all the details but thought that might help, so finally here is the plan so far

27th - epcot coral reef (son loves fish)
28th MK liberty tavern supper w/characters
29th ak breakfast with donald planning mnsshp that night
30th mgm mama melrose fantasmic dinner package

These have been booked but would appreciate suggestion on 5th meal? or any other suggestion Thanks!

Looks like a good list. I was looking to going to Coral Reef this October as well but after reading many reports I think we will pass that one up. Anyway, where will you be on that 5th meal? At a park, resort, etc?
Ideas:
Chef Mickey's a Character meal that my family goes to every year (buffet)!
O'Hanas at Polynesian was awesome. They bring meat to you on skewers and they give you all kind of food with that!
That's about it other than what you have already listed! Have fun!

We went last September and didn't like the food or the service at Mama Melrose. Maybe think about 50's Prime Time, the kids love it.

This may have been covered elsewhere, but I have a question.
Are there any exceptions on what you can order from the menu?
I am interested in the Surf & Turf($50.00) at Narcoossee's, & was wondering if that would be concidered an entree?:veryconfu

Keep in mind that Narcoosee's is a Signature Dining Experience and would "cost" you two of your sit down meals to eat there one time. In light of that I can't imagine that that particular item would be excluded. If you are still interested in dining there, I would contact Disney directly to be sure that this item is included. Yes, there are a few things on some menus that you have to pay a little extra for. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now...sorry. :brick: I am sure someone here will sooner or later direct you to another source that can answer your question better than I.
