TSI- Let's not blame a floundering educational system on Disney World. Literature was meant to be read instead of being made into a Nintendo game of some kind.

Did they ever make a Tom Sawyer game for the NES? If they did, that would be pretty sweet! I'd want to have Injun Joe as a playable character ;)

We never read Tom Sawyer as a class, but I chose it as my silent reading book in 4th or 5th grade because I wanted to read about the place I went to at Disney World! :)

I absolutely love the Swiss Family Treehouse! :sohappy:

Some arguments for the Treehouse:

-WDW needs diversity in its attractions too!
-SFT is a walkthrough attraction.
-Some rides provide an opportunity to rest in an airconditioned indoor space. SFT is a place to get rid of excessive energy outdoors.
-That tree is just really need! So much to see, new perspectives wait after every turn. It's all about exploring and imagination.
-SFT is an essential element of the Adventureland 'theme'. The total is more than the sum of its parts, attractions like the Jungle Cruise and the Treehouse make Adventureland. Exploration, exoticism, putting the guest in the middle of the action. This is how one becomes a child again, how one's imagination can run wild. And this is why the Magic Kingdom feels magical, and IOA feels like...like just a well themed park with stunning rides.

COP shouldn't be on this list. It's a must do for our family every single trip. Also, I just did the tree house on my last trip and thought it was great and had some cool photo spots. I can't eve remember going on tom Sawyer's Island but I know I have. I only chose that out of the three choices given but I would never remove any f these 3 attractions anytime soon.

Now that Disney got wise and got rid of the, imo, worthless clubs and shops in Pleasure Island, what should they dump next?

Nostalgia is fine and dandy, but it don't bring people into the park now, its new better rides or attractions. My personal choice of attractions Disney should dump:

Carousel of progress- Its nothing more but a time waster and space eater. Prime property like this could be used for something much more meaningful. Sure it has history, but it needs to go. Extremely dated.

Swiss Family Treehouse- Do people even go to this any more? In all my years and trips at Disney, I've personally never experienced this one. Someone please explain why this should stay?

Tom Sawyer island- Quick, ask a child under the age of 10 if they know who Tom Sawyer is? Chances are they don't, and this old attraction is showing its age with every day that passes. Its really not fun anymore, even for my children. We don't even acknowledge its existence when we visit.

So if you could dump one of these, which one would YOU choose?

don't want to sound mean but around these parts you just signed your death warrant.

It wouldn't fit there anyway, but there's a lovely expansion pad in between the Jungle Cruise and PotC.

There really isn't a huge amount of room in between Pirates and Jungle, unless you'd have the queue going pretty far back.

And the SFT footprint is actually bigger than you'd think. Lee or Martin posted a picture of HM fitting in its spot.

I haven't been on SFT in many a year ... plus it takes up some pretty valuable real estate. I'm not necessarily saying to dump it, but if something better came along ..*cough* IJA *cough* .. I probably wouldn't mind that much.

What is IJA?

Shhhhhhhhhh, I'm protecting my tree house.

Every little boy wants a huge tree house in his backyard. SFT is mine now.

Personally I'd rather they didn't waste their time on any of these choices. Focus on the parks that need the most work like DHS or AK. If I had to be picky get rid of Airels Grotto and the play ground and give me back 20K or add another major ride to Fantasy Land!
My thoughts, exactly. I don't think it's the "old" stuff that needs to go--at least nostalgia has some value to some of us! However, Ariel's Grotto, Pooh's play ground, etc. are a very poor substitute for 20K and add nothing, in my opinion, to the MK. So much wasted space!

Im normally someone who is bored by simple things pretty easily. CoP however does not bore me. For some reason I love it. I guess because its NOT updated. Its also funny to me that people really thought things would never get better than they were "at the turn of the century".
