Nothing more was really announced at the meeting, it is just supposed to be a review of the status of the company, he only told about forbeidden mountain or everest mountain or what ever its going to be called because he fell into my trap of them not building a moat around the Animal Kingdom.

I'm so happy so happy so happy so happy and can't wait for this. I hope that with this they open the boats on the lake so I can transfer from the Seven Seas Lagoon to AK, jeje, I love to drive those boats, they are so nice and easy.

I just thought of something, do you think that the Yeti in FM will be the same one that was at the end of Monsters Inc (see Avatar)? Talk about movie tie-in opportunity in the making. That would be pretty cool, wouldn't you say?

No, I don't think so. He only has a very minor role in Monsters inc. and not a very well known one. Besides, he's not ominouse in anyway.

This was really just wishful thinking on my part, but hey I still think it would be a cool idea!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

And they'd have a heck of a time selling the lemon-flavored snowcones. :)

BTW, dopey, you make a great point. Just because it's yellow doesn't mean it has to be lemon. Imagine the banana-flavoured snow cone sales, even banana split-flavoured....I say bring on the Yeti!!!

FYI,
Screamscape has put up a drawing similar to the one I've been using as an avatar.

I have a better drawing, but I'm waiting for the person who did it to give me the OK to post it.

With all of the bad news going on tonight, I figured that some good news would do you all good.

I just saw this online. Looks like it is time for me to eat some words...

>>>At the March 19th, 2003 Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting in Denver, during the Question and Answer section, somebody asked what is Disney planning to do to improve Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Michael Eisner responded with the fact that a ride dealing with Climbing Mt. Everest and "is the biggest, and the best, and the most amazing ride thru the Himalayas..." is "on the boards and has been approved"... "A Testosterone driven ride for the boy in the family..." Then Michael turns to Bob Iger to ask when the ride should be completed, and Bob says "You just made a couple of hundred people on the internet happier than they ever been in their life." Basically confirming Michael let the cat out of the bag before the official announcement.<<<

I don't know if a link to just another thread at just another messgae board should be of any value to us...

The rumor has been around for a quite some time now...
B.T.W. Michael always climbs mountains (He always dreams about it though). and don't forget he was joking at that time...
He NEVER let's the cat out of the bag, never has and never will...
And Bob wasn't basically comfirming anything... he was turning his face from Michael, so....
That speech has been taken a bit out of context...

As I said before.... NOTHING has been "green lighted" at Disney's Animal Kingdom...

well why didnt anybody ask stuff about other things such as project gemini. I want some more news about that. well anyways for once , eisner has made me happy

Well, here is the quote in context then.

Q: It’s like the only park that you haven’t built a moat around is the Animal Kingdom…are you guys going to do anything there any time soon…like Beastly Kingdom or something like that?”

A: We have on the boards and approved…and I don’t know whether we’ve announced it so I’m always in difficult territory here…but an attraction called something Climbing Everest…or…Mt Everest is in the title…and it is the biggest, and the best, and the most amazing ride through the Himalayas, (and it is) consistent with the topography and the spirit of the Animal Kingdom..We want the Animal Kingdom to be an equally attractive park to our guests as the other 3 parks in Florida and even though it is so unique and so swonderful having a testosterone driven ride for the boy in the family that finds himself in the ak with his sister and his parents is something that has been approved and is on the agenda to open…to begin construction actually… to begin, when do you think?

Q: You just made a couple of hundred people happy on the internet then they’ve ever been in their life.

a: Don’t tell them…don’t tell them (because) I don’t think we’ve announced it yet
