This is great news!!:sohappy:

Now we have something besides Mission Space to talk about.:)

I was getting sooooooo sick of hearing Mission Space THIS ..and Mission Space THAT..and when is Mission Space going to open...blah blah blah:hammer:

Sounds like the thrill seekers will have yet another reason to come to Walk Disney World!!

Plus...maybe I'll quit hearing the whiners saying things like "Animal Kingdom is just a glorified Zoo!!"

That alone is worth having a new ride...

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Kewl... something interesting is finally going to happen at AK!
Hmmm.. Maybe now I can look forward to going to AK again. :)

I agree, this ride seems to have the potential to get the "zoo" out of animal kingdom and finally complete the animal spectrum by adding the mythical creatures into the mix.

I knew it was only a matter of time. Animal Kingdom desperately needs a ride like this, and now they're definitely getting it.

Well, once this is open, i'll make my first trek over to Animal Kingdom.

YAWN! :o

What He didn't say was the approved budget so far is $142.53.

A Nationwide bottle and can collection program will be started in the schools to fund the remainder of the project.

If successful, officials speculate that the Wookie-turned-Yeti may be actually be animatronic instead of just a cardboard cutout.

WOOHOO!

I won't believe it until I ride it. Ok j/k.

This is really great news, I think Disney needs this now.

And I would not be surprised to learn that Eisner had planned to slip this tidbit in to the Q&A before the meeting started. With the stock not doing so well it is a good way to let the investors know that they are planning for the future and it will be great. The April event will probably be watched even closer now as everyone will be waiting for the specifics of the ride.

Just can't wait until they announce an opening date.

The Abonidable Snowman in Disneyland is not a cardboard cut out. It's an AA with very little movement. It only moves its arms forward when a bobsleder comes toward it.

I think the reason they decided to announce this is because those competitors down the street are also playing the same game, can we say the Mummy vs Forbidden Mountain.

Nah, I don't think we can. Forbidden Mountain has been a long time coming.

I just thought of something, do you think that the Yeti in FM will be the same one that was at the end of Monsters Inc? Talk about movie tie-in opportunity in the making. That would be pretty cool, wouldn't you say?

So is that Avatar fictional, an interpretation, or based on something?

It is a well disguised drawing based on a piece of art, which was based on a photo of the model. I started to just use the model as an avitar, but I'm still too scared of Disney legal.

Yeah, but can Disney do anything now that Eisner himself let it out?..... if not, im still hoping you post the pic of the model come April 21......

Just because Eisner talked about it, doesn't change the fact that it is photos and such that were "leaked" out of WDI without Disney consent. Copyright issues and things like that are what I am worried about.
Besides, I'm sure some fantastic concept art will be released in April that will make the stuff I have look weak.

Edit: I just heard from some people who post on other boards, who have some of the same stuff I have, that they are considering posting theirs. If this stuff starts to hit the web, I'll post it too and we'll all go down together.
