true! and it is the hottest of all the parks...a frosty cold margarita will definitely improve the ridiculous wait times for the attractions and take the edge off those screaming children... and a little booze does make me more amenable to buying things (are you listening Disney?)...just sayin'
I'm constantly amazed by the number of folks drinking alcohol under the blazing hot Florida sun as though it were an intelligent thing to do. Disney needs to start charging for at their first aid stations (if they don't already) for acts of stupidity. Band aids should still be free.

Hardly angry, just amazed.
I agree. I think of Food and Wine starting in the September heat. How many people pass out from dehydration and/or puke on World Showcase Promenade?

YOLO, sure, but Disney could/should at least do a better job at cutting people off when they've had enough. Perhaps a hand stamp system as is used at some ballparks? No one should get wasted in a theme park. And certainly not in 95 degrees.

YOLO, but my family also OLO. These are family parks, not Playa del Carmen. I could do with fewer F-bombs in World Showcase during fall evenings (and yet we are coming back...must be insane).

Your comment kinda reminds me of the video of that drunk woman trying to force the bartender to serve her more alcohol. All while her "precious" kid looked distraught next to her.

At the end of the update, he talks about the structure and mentioned it will be covered dining as "they (Disney) don't wan't guests getting their food wet when it rains". Seems like the incentive to Disney here is to save money. Currently, when it rains, a guests food gets drenched and then they argue there was no indoor seating, Disney has their hands tied and has to give money back if a customer asks for it.

Honestly, they really should have covered seating available...I have been lucky to have had great weather on my trips there, but it would be miserable if raining...

Most of the seating at Flame Tree is already covered pavilions and they are currently adding covers to the walkways between the pavilions (plus in the major closure this year they extended the cover at the tills).
The new structure is different and looks more like a bar or kiosk. But it could just be an additional seating pavilion.

I would like an air conditioning pavilion...lol Years ago ( back in thew 70s) Tomorrowland Terrace, the restaurant that is now usually closed between Main Street and Tomorrowland, was all open air but also air conditioned...it was amazing!

I think I remember this too!

From the same company that today keeps air conditioning at sweltering levels in attractions and even shops.

I seem to remember there being air conditioned outdoor queues too. I think this was due to the imagineers being from CA, and not fully understanding the cost to air condition an outdoor space. At least they understood the need for AC.

Due to the very nature of AK, I don't think we'll ever see more than misters and fans in the outdoor areas. However, they work well providing you can find them, they need more, but not near food.

Some of them do. The jungle cruise for example has air conditioning in its open air queue

In the 70's the rides were kept so cold that the "AC blast" was one of the major highlights of the attractions. I do miss that.
as someone who has health concerns.. getting blasted by AC right after you're ultra hot from the summer sun.. can kill you and give a monstrous cold or some heavy muscular issues.
I never understood why Buses had these freezing cold temps when outside was excruciatingly hot for the same reasons.

I have never been able to figure that out either. We never, ever ride the bus unless we are forced to in such situations as riding to HDDR. Although now we just park at the Wilderness lodge and take a boat to HDDR. We rode the bus there once and the driver had the AC on so cold it was (no joke here) just like a meat locker. The windows actually had condensation on them. There were two elderly looking ladies among all the freezing people and they looked like they were going to die. Shaking, shivering, and huddled together. I finally asked the driver to turn the AC down and he actually refused saying "It will get too hot if I do. No one else minds the air." o_O  o_O I told him that if it stays like this for much longer we're going to start feeling like the Donner party. Unfortunately, I think we all took the purple bus that night and not the yellow one. (There are three. One is a very long ride and the others are shorter)

Disney bus driver here! We do not control the A/C temperature. All we can do it on and off. The buses are kept cold to keep germs down. If you've ever been in an operating room, it was kept cold for the same reason. And if we turn it off, the bus get very warm and humid very quick. Once it gets humid inside, the steering wheel get slippery and the windshield fogs up.

Then that bus needed to be serviced and not in operation. Simple. And yes, I have been in an operating room. No operating room on the planet is that cold. I understand you (and others) may think I was exaggerating the temperature inside the bus, but rest assured, I was not. It was damn cold in there. I am a naturally hot person who even sleeps with a fan directly on me. That bus was way too cold for anyone to be even slightly comfortable. Btw, wth is the point in an AC system that only has an on/off selection?? I have never seen anything like that on any bus, school or city. So, is that a Disney thing? They actually redesign the control panel for the AC to prevent dialing it down?
