  • My husband is going to Casting next wk to schedule his physical &start date as a driver. One of our friends has told us that training is 12 wks. Everything I have seen online states that training is 6 wks, plus 2 wks to pass the CDL. The paperwork they gave him states that he will be full time with mandatory OT. Is it really that busy right now? Can you tell me which it is? He is so excited to start working

Thank you so much for your response. I will let him know. He goes in tomorrow to do the background check and start the ball rolling for everything. He still needs to do his physical and drug test, but from what we understand they wont let him until the background check comes back. Needless to say - he is excited!

Welcome to the Transportation family. I drive out of Animal Kingdom if he ever wants to ride along. You can't miss my bus, I always have Goofy in the dashboard and a Goofy on the rear view mirror. Off Wednesday and Thursday.

Thank you!! I will let him know. Since you have Goofy in the dashboard - it wont be hard to find you. lol
I had an in person bus driver interview 2 wks ago. I had a CDL in another state. I was told to get my med card, get FLA CDL and remove highlights from my hair. I did all that within 24 hrs and sent info to the email address I was given. I was told I would be contacted about the next step, getting my background check and drug test. I have not heard anything. How long does it usually take to hear something back?

Sometimes I wonder about Casting. Your best bet would be to contact the person that interviewed you by phone. Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle and they have been very busy with hiring for Disney Springs. Good luck, and keep me informed.
Hi, I was thinking of applying for a bus driver position. I know you start part time, but I hear you can go full time fairly quickly. But I also know that's only like 32 hours. Is it hard to get hours? Thanks for any info you can give me.

You can get full time anywhere from right out of training or it could take a couple of months. You can always pick up shifts. There is usually overtime available and if people call out you have the possibility of having your shift extended. I usually get extended 2 or 3 times a week, but I work at AK and we close early, so they usually need help closing the park. I was working 6 days a during the summer.
Hi John! Were you the driver I spoke to on an empty bus from OKW to DHS last week, & we spoke about the bendy-buses & buses in general? I know there is more than 1 driver named John, but when I saw you were from Bear & I'm from Smyrna, I figured, the chances look good.

Anyway, thx for the conversation. And if you aren't the driver from last week, well, OK & Sorry. I still enjoy your bus-related posts!

No. It wasn't me. I work out of Animal Kingdom and rarely make it over to DHS. I only make it there when the park is closing and they need extra help.
