First look at the 3D Model

DHS is filled with lots of little pathways? Like where? Lookin at the map and thinking about past memories I never really remember DHS having a lot of those. I remember a lot of big open areas and not a lot of places where you could get away from all the crowds.

I like the Pooh pathways here and the Cinderella pathways.

The maps don't show them. Same for WS. There's tons of little nooks and crannies that are not shown. MK has them, too.

DAK, of course, has the most.

My first look at it, and wow! Amazing! :D

But on the Tow Mater attraction, from the previous concept rendering released, the low center shed was visible amid tall flowers. :lookaroun

And I still say that terrace/gazebo in from of the Chateau resembles the Swan Boat load/unload structure..
. :lookaroun

It would be nice if that carried over. Would lend to the cohesiveness of the new areas and the old.

True. Very true. I still haven't really explored the Streets of America thoroughly yet :/ I need my pic with the umbrella!!

Back to topic, there were "updated" blue prints up in this forum that switched around PH and Dumbo again and everyone said to trust in the prints and not the art, but it looks like the art really was correct. :p

Now it's obviously a trackless system is it magnets that move them or what?

The Race Rally system that will apparently be used here in Pixie Hollow is not a trackless system. The cars are on wheel bogeys of some sort, but most of it is hidden under the floor. Only a post sticks up through the floor, where the vehicle is mounted.

The cars are arranged along the outside of a turntable. Every time a car gets to the intersection of two turntables, it switches to the adjacent turntable. In smaller installations with two turntables, this results in the cars following a figure-8 pattern. But with larger, multi-wheel installations like this, it would zig-zag from wheel to wheel until it got to the end, where it would ride around the end turntable and start its way back.

The Race Rally in France uses multiple two-turntable installations in a small space, making for a very busy kinetic, but the car you get in only ever travels around two turntables.

From the scale model, it looks like they'll have two 4-turntable ride mechanisms. That large can and shack/box in the middle are probably part of the queue. You'd enter at the top, walk down the queue between the two ride mechanisms and then be funneled left or right (similar to Primeval Whirl). Having Guests load from near the center makes things easier (and faster) as people can swarm out from the center, rather than having some Guests have to walk ALLLLL the way from one end to the other at loading time.
The lantern would most likely be the ride operator booth, as it gives a clear view of both sides.

BTW, here's a video of the original style ride, called a Cuddle Up, from the 1920's:

Some of the original models had half a dozen turntables all interconnected.

Or.....you could have it backwards.
See my post above.;)

Y'all remember back a few months ago when I said to trust the plans and not the art?
Remember that?
That goes for the model, too.

Just sayin'.......

Thanks, buddy. In all seriousness ... thanks ... for being a voice of sanity in an Olympic-sized pool of fanboi drool.

11 pages off a half-finished model ... and reading an attraction into an area where there absolutely appears to be none. Just wow.

I think I need to limit the threads I visit here because some are just so inane to defy description.

Models mean nothing, even if EVERYthing some folks are mistakenly reading into this one actually are the true concepts.

Just go look at the DCA model on display in Anaheim to see how so much that's shown isn't being built.

Y'all need to step back and go take a run ... ride a bike ... kiss a girl or a dude (or both) ... read a book (even one on Disney) ... but seriously 11 pages on nothing.

And as the immortal Sonny and Cher sang ... the Beat Goes On ...:brick::rolleyes::cool::wave:

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier in the thread but I guess it was overlooked. Models aren't as concrete as you might think.. Several DCA models on display show stuff that ended up being totally different. Good to see the overall picture but it doesn't mean all of it will be built (unfortunately).

Sorry, I did just see that ... I basically skimmed the thread because ... well, it's 11 pages of nothing.

But yeah, DCA's model has everything from the parachute drop that was dropped to the extensive new covering/building for the carousel to the new queue for the Funwheel ... and those are just three off the top of my head ... can't recall if that model still had the Beergarden in it or not.

But this model proves nothing, nada, zero.

I have pics of amazing models that were displayed in MK covering everything from EPCOT to Studios to DAK to Tomorrowland 1994 that showed many, many, many kewl things ... that never saw the light of day.

And you're adding onto the nothing

11 pages of nothing?

It's always so positive and nice to see you 1974. I like how you're always complaining about what's in threads and where the threads are and act like a forum police yet you just contributed nothing to this this but complained.

This is a healthy discussion. Why do you have to try and spoil it?

Will this area be a fall-out area for fireworks? I've been wondering this for a long time, but I never really understood whether or not it would close early. If not, it'd be a great new fireworks spot :)

The blue prints def had PH and Dumbo switched around though. Am I remembering this part right or am I looking like an idiot?
You are correct about that.
What I was pointing out is that, in all probability, the model and art predate the prints.
Trust the prints.
