First look at the 3D Model

Ah, I can see that they moved dumbo from its original place in the blueprints.

Overall it looks pretty cool, though I'm still not happy of the destruction of toon town, and I hate Pixi Hollow since that franchise is a failure.

You know what sucks? In the corner, the Speedway still exists. :hurl: That uglyness will be too close to this!

And the weird thing is that people at Aurora's house are going to hear the put-put of car engines right across the way.

I was really hoping that they were going to move dumbo into that speedway curve and re-route it somehow.

Stitch Kingdom is definitely billing this model as postdating the prints, though. :hammer:
Based on what I have been told, and my years in the construction field, I can say with some authority that is not the case.

You design the area. Make a model. Have an artist do concept art based on that model. Then continue down the approval process. When approved, you commission full, detailed plans and schematics for the project which will be given out to the contractors who will be doing the actual work.
You don't make blueprints, then change your mind and make a model of a different version.
Models and art first, then formal blueprints and schematics.

As for the Pixie Hollow attraction, recent (unconfirmed at this point) word would lead me to believe that the Teacup/Mater style ride may have been cut in favor of a more elaborate meet and greet experience. MUCH more elaborate (and cool).

It's still a meet and greet...

If the thinking was "Let's do 1 right rather than 2 mediocre," then I'm cool with that, even if it is a M&G.

So I guess Lutz may have been kinda right, depending on your POV.

Thanks for the info, Lee.

The whole land is full of them.
That's why I'm pretty much just  about the whole expansion.
Aside from LM and the restaurant....I have no reason to ever go back there.

Yup...same.

For me it'll be LM and then out, because I doubt I'll be able to get ressies at BoG since my trips tend to be spur of the moment.

Seeing that this is where TTF used to be, yeah, it'll be closed.

I would like to see the launches from Wishes over the BATB Castle, though.

Toontown Fair isn't closed during Wishes. You may be thinking of Toontown out in Anaheim, which *is* closed during their fireworks presentations.

The existing backstage cast road, which borders the expansion to the north, is the edge of the current fallout area for the fireworks. So there most likely will be no closures to the expansion during Wishes.
(Do you really think they'd build a brand new E-Ticket and Table Service restaurant that they'd have to close on a nightly basis?)

Maybe I'm not going to trust the blue prints nor the model and just wait until it's actually build.

I could honestly care less if a PH attraction gets axed in favor of a more elaborate M&G because I probably wouldn't go on/see neither of them. Too bad they had to focus on M&G's so much. One more major ride would have been great.

They just need to kill it. It's very outdated.

;)

Very cool. And very elaborate. I think it ties into another one of this week's "Trending Topics" as they say on Twitter.

However, there is room for both. If they were to cut the "ride" it would be no huge loss.

No, it's not.

Not to be impudent, but are you sure? I can very clearly remember signs saying that it would be closed in the evening for Wishes.

Agreed so much money for Meet & Greets :brick:

Then off to AL!

Apparently, it is.
It's a M/G, yes...But...it would be a very, very unique one. Something totally new.

See the above, and while the others are a bit superfluous, the Tink one, wouldn't be.

Still something I won't waste my time on, no matter how unique. It's meeting a character. One that will have a long line.

I really could care less if Pixie Hollow makes it or not. In fact, I think I'd prefer if it didn't. Put something else in that space that has broader appeal, instead of another attempted little girl merchandising cash cow.

Storybook Land would be ideal. :D
