Looking at the model I see a few things. The PH ride cars are Cheese the mouse pulling a cart.

I was going to post the same thing!!! But according to the people in the know this model is old and this doesn't exist anymore!?!

Still sounds and looks cool!

I'm going against the flow here. I like the new FL... I think it's going to be a huge hit whenever it makes its debut!

I'm over all these M&G areas in the new FL. No matter how cool, I'd rather have a ride.

I'd rather have rides too, but everyone who's complaining is forgetting that Toontown is basically just Meet-and-Greets. At least the new façades are better than tents!

Meet & Greets don't have a chance to stand up to Harry Potter.

MK's lucky to be getting anything new, let alone an entire makeover of FL, even Tokyo's FL doesn't get that. MK never needed anything to stand up to Harry Potter. Potter will draw guests maybe the first few months but after all the hoopla of its opening, it'll be quickly forgotten, it's not exactly the centerpiece of an entire vacation experience like the Magic Kingdom often is.

Going to Orlando is synonymous with Disney, not Harry Potter. it'll take more than a kid wizard to dethrone an empire. Besides, it's not like the attendance levels were amazing when IOA first opened and they were backed with an entire land dedicated to Marvel and Dr. Seuss characters.

I agree. Potter may be better for some of us (not me personally), but I don't think anyone will ever do it like Disney. I mean come on. I think things are more detailed in the FYL Expansion. I mean we have a lot of trees and foliage to add to the effect of a forest. I mean it's more intricate as well. But that is my opinion.

Wanna see me stir up some trouble?
I'll say this: My mind is fairly made-up on the subject. Wizarding World is gonna eat this Fantasyland stuff for lunch. Period.

Seriously. WW is gonna be awesome, and has the added benefit of not having any meet and greets. Or coloring parties.

I'm hoping thats a good thing. If it does eat up the FLE, then TDO will need to put more effort into WDW.

Well, FLE is targetted at kids and families and WWoHP is targetted at young adults/adults.... so your comment isn't saying much :shrug:

I'm really surprised how much central Florida is getting in the next few years: WWoHP, Aquatica expansion, new coaster at BGT, FLE, ST2, Legoland...

Well, for us FLE is less than Potter. But the average guests with famillies just want their children to take a picture with the characters. I'm sick and tired of TDO doing this crap. Why don't they fire all of those people that just sit in front a friggin' office desk and all they do is cut-back! Seriously where's the quality?! Not only that but I find it completely hypocritical how we earn the most money of all the resorts matter of fact, WDW is the most known and most money-earning theme park resort out there! Why in the world are they giving us this crap! I'm happy with this but I don't think M&G's are worth all the hoopla. And while I do contribute to this hoopla it's because my WDW pride takes over me at times, but to be realistic, this is just TDO insulting all of us! I wouldn't mind if they did the M&G's and at the same time had new rides for Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. Some classics like Casey Jr. wouldn't be bad either, or maybe something original for once! My gosh! I'm tired of this, I don't think it's fair that us WDW'ers have to deal with all this. Oh and guess what, while we at WDW get cutbacks, DL gets updates, improvements, a huge billion dollar expansion, and above all, here comes a DL expansion soon! My goodness...

And Lee, guess you were right about sparking trouble. Hehe.

No...it says everything. As an adult, I have no interest at all in most of FLE.
None.

WW.....lots of interest. Every ride will be good. The shops are well-themed, the area is full of detail. And the whole thing isn't targeted to toddlers and pre-teen girls.

Thus WWoHP > FLE.

These M&G's look like much more than the typical M&G.

They're putting you in the movie with the added bonus of meeting the princess. I can't wait to see it for myself and to see the look on my two neiece's face when they see this (I'm not man enough to just go alone :p)

Yea, it says you, as an adult, like the WWoHP.... and I guarentee a little girl would say she likes FLE way more than Harry Potter and she loves all the detail of being in their world.

You made my point.:D
Look at it in terms of overall guest satisfaction.
FLE will thrill little girls who like princesses, and will have a nice new dark ride and restaurant for most demographics.
WW will appeal to all ages. A ride for the kids, a ride for teens and adults, and a family ride.
I think Disney made a mistake putting all their eggs into the little girl basket.

Lee, do you know what they will be focusing on after the FLE? It seems like this time area it's for little girls, hoping the next couple of major additions to MK is more boy (and adult) focused.

Yup. No doubt about it.

As a matter of fact, my mom and younger sister are excited about HP much more than FLE for those reasons, and we'll be making a Universal only trip this summer. Can't WAIT.

TWWOHP is everything most people are looking for in a theme park experience.

I think it's time for WDW to get a black eye. They deserve it. They have rested on their laurels pretty much the last 10 years. And I hope against hope that everyone HIGH and LOW sings the praises of Universal and tells everyone that you have not lived until you've seen HP at Uni. Then and only then will WDW be really motivated to take action.

No clue. Unless they move ahead with a large Pixar Place expansion.

I really hope WDW takes a hit from WWOHP and are forced to have to respond with something else besides FLE and the like. I just think that, while people will certainly go to Uni more, it won't be a huge jump b/c People will come for Potter, but if you are on a big vacation, it is almost impossible to spend a week at uni and I just think a lot of the people who are gonna go check out Potter are gonna go to WDW at some point anyway. Hopefully WWoHP will have some effect to where they will do something, but idk.

What's funny, is that most of the people that post on this website (the fanboys so to say) would fall in line with Harry Potter's target audience. The problem is, some people on here operate under the assumption that Universal is horrible, and they could never go there.

I am definitely looking forward to Harry Potter more than the New Fantasyland, but in it's simplest form I'm looking at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey vs. Ariel's Undersea Adventure - Thrill Ride vs. Omnimover/Dark Ride

You made my point.:D

What is the ride for kids? They're re-theming existing areas (Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge), I don't consider these new attractions, but rather refurbishments. Where Harry Potter really needs to deliver is the interactivity for kids. The wand shop, and unique merchandise need to draw families because right now Islands of Adventure fails to meet that demographic.

Without that family demographic, the Fantasyland expansion is going to win out from a dollars and cents perspective.

I really hope WDW takes a hit from WWOHP and are forced to have to respond with something else besides FLE and the like. I too am hoping for success with Harry Potter. Disney needs the competition, as fans we need to see it strive to exceed expectations once again.

Wait, so they are thinking of doing a Pixar Place expansion, Lee?

@NextBigThing, I agree, it's time they learned!!!

If they aren't doing anything else for FLE, then I think they should do a big expansion and overhaul for
Tomorrowland to appeal to boys.
