EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

How popular is Figment? Well when I first went in 1976, bought my fiancee a Figment doll. In the early 80's, my now wife bought a Figment doll for our daughter. In 2010, I bought my grand daughter a Figment doll. Three generations and still going strong.
We're on year four of them releasing Figment popcorn buckets, and even though this year's is kinda boring imo it's still popular enough to warrant a virtual queue with long waits even after you're called to pickup. Figment has been on pretty much all of the festival merchandise for at least five years now. I don't know that the ride is particularly popular, but the character sure is.

Figment definitely is popular again. He’s probably on the road to being “a part” of wdw to the gp like some of the other famous rides or things there. (Though I may be biased). Most people in the gp I’ve asked about figments meteoric rise in popularity these past few years have just said to me “oh he’s figment, he’s always been there”

But with how much merch he moves, it’s funny how Disney tried to assasinate him
In the 90s

And you'd think they would have utilized using the Kitchen Kabaret or Food Rocks characters during the Food And Wine Festival..And the only time they did was in 2003 for a small carnival section for families.

The other closest time was a few years back they had these toon looking food on the entry sign but I don't think there was a bunch of merch..

Stay awake brothers and sisters, for one day the dreamfinder will rise again in his glory, and he will SMITE the unbelieving institute and the false prophet Channing, and his kingdom of imagination will have NO END!
But lo! A queen of ice has combated his powers with her own and delayed the smite of the false prophet !

Ok, we're getting weird again.
Indeed.. like.. may I remind you folks that this is the very same park that holds the Candlelight Processional (a choir event, usually hosted by a celebrity speaker that retells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ/the first Christmas) every year, correct? (Fun fact: that event was started by Walt at Disneyland before it eventually made it’s way to EPCOT Center aswell to carry on that tradition) Dreamfinder & Figment are basically a Santa Claus & his Elves equivalent if anything, they continue on the spirit of kindness, generosity & positive inspiration to use God’s gift of creativity/imagination to us to do good in this world with it. All of EPCOT Center was originally designed to be a beacon of hope like this. It’s not God or Jesus themselves, but it certainly continues his spirit of giving people hope & generosity to use our achievements, abilities, etc. to do good & provide good things for our fellow man in whatever field we choose to pursue, to make the world a better place .

I gotta say though, in such troubled/sad times as of late, theme parks like EPCOT Center, characters like Dreamfinder & Figment, and attractions like the original 83-98 Journey Into Imagination, etc. would genuinely be a ‘fantastic’ way to spread positive goodwill, hope, love & generosity to people that need it at the moment. The timing would be perfect.

You guys should think back and remember just how much of a goodwill ambassador Walt, his dedicated team of creatives, and his original studio creations did for many around the world back in the day in similar tough times. The same thing could happen today with those classic EPCOT Center characters & attractions. Aswell as a new & upcoming generation of creatives that, like Walt’s team & the team behind EPCOT Center, are dedicated to seeing through, creating things that continue that same quality & spirit to help inspire sincere hope & inspiration to people all around the world. I sincerely hope & pray that indeed will happen, that God’s grace & love for us will see us through and make that dream a reality. 🙏🏻
