Favorite Holiday Film

Considering the Holiday season is starting so soon, I wanted to ask what are your favorite Disney films to watch around this time of year. I'd have to put The Muppet Christmas Carol at the top of my list!

The Polar Express was one of my favourite books as a kid, and the film adaptation is visually stunning with a hauntingly beautiful score. Easily my favourite Christmas movie, though a close second would be It's A Wonderful Life.

Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas. We watched it everyday on our first trip to WDW five years ago, and it's become a must watch holiday movie for us every year now

My favourite Disney-related Christmas film would have to be the old Disney shorts that were shown together on The Wonderful World of Disney each holiday season. It usually had Pluto's Christmas Tree, Donald Duck's Christmas, a couple others I believe, and then it usually ended with Mickey's Christmas Carol.

Non-Disney ones:
A Christmas Story - a classic from my generation FOR SURE! I actually saw this one in the theaters when it was released.

Christmas Vacation - the BEST of all the Chevy Chase Vacation movies! Isn't the holidays until we have watched this one!

It's A Wonderful Life - never saw this classic until I met my wife in '89. Instantly became a favourite of mine!

Also a fan of 'Small One'. We don't usually watch the animated short, but my family reads the illustrated book every Christmas Eve after donning our PJs.. even though I'm 19 and my sister is 15, Mom stills reads it to us =)

Very Merry Muppet Christmas and The Year Without a Santa Claus are the annual favorites around here.

I would have to say Mickey's Christmas Carol. I still have my vhs copy from the early 90s. It is still my favorite Disney christmas movie. My normal favorite christmas movie is White Christmas.:xmas:

Mickey's Christmas Carol and Muppet Family Christmas are two of my must-watch Christmas specials. I don't really have a favorite Disney Christmas movie. I mean, I do love Muppet Christmas Carol but it's not a must.

White Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie as well, gotta love Danny Kaye.

I actually never liked A Christmas Story, even though it has our own "Carousel of Progress" narrator, Jean Shephard, is the narrator.

I like It's a Wonderful Life, like so many other folks do; but I also like The Homecoming, the old CBS TV movie that created The Waltons. If you've never seen it, you should. It will move you to tears.

As for DISNEY Christmas fare, I really don't have a favorite, but Mickey's Christmas Carol is still good!

I'm another vote for The Polar Express. Something about that movie gets to me. Since we go to WDW for an early Christmas celebration, we take a lot of Christmas movies with us. Mostly the old black & whites. Can you believe that last year was the first year my friends had ever heard of or seen Muppets Christmas Carol?

The Polar Express is actually a Warner Bros. production, albeit a GREAT one. :wave:

Oh I love holiday movies!
I love Mickey's Christmas Carol, A Muppet Family Christmas, Emmit Otter's Jug Band Christmas, The Christmas Toy and more.

I just love Muppet's Christmas Carol - "There goes Mr Humbug, there goes Mr Grim"! It just sets me off every time!

But Christmas just isn't Christmas without at least one showing of The Snowman. Seen it every year since I was tiny (now 25) and I still cry at the end!

After reading this thread I realize just how many Christmas moovies I haven't seen. Its a wonderful Life? Does that still come on t v? I am now interested in waching that and A Christmas Storry.
