Fantasyland Expansion Rumor

I disagree.. while there is limited space.. There is a decent amount of adjacent space.. to the rear of the mansion and small world show buildings, there is a ton of space.. and filtering guests through that narrow pass between the buildings has been done before (Soarin).... While not the most IDEAL plot for expansion, it is still entirely possible..
Rob beat me to it. There is no spare space - did you see that area during the HM and iasw rehabs? Not to mention the other reasons he gives.

The old Skyway station is doing fine job as it is, and its performing a valuable service as a stroller parking lot.

Now, if we want to talk about Skyway infrastructure being wasted and not utilized, let us turn our attention to the Tomorrowland side...

I would love to see a Batb rise or little mermaid, something big and with great themeing like Splash Mountain. I would also like a more adult geared ride, but we see what happens to great rides geared for adults(Alien Encounter)

I agree that the skyway building is pretty, but you can't just keep it there and have nothing. I think they should keep the structure, but turn it into a resteraunt pavillion or somthing.
that's exactly what i was thinking, and maybe if they did make it an attraction over there, i would love to see some kind of shoot off coaster, i know we have RnRc but still i've always wanted a shoot off roller coaster to go in that spot

I wouldn't mind seeing an update to Fantasyland also, but I think I would rather see an Alice in Wonderland or original attraction rather than a Beauty and the Beast attraction. I like Beauty and the Beast, but it does already have the show at DHS. I don't understand why people will complain that Toy Story has two attractions or Nemo has a few or that Monsters, Inc. might get another but don't have a problem with doubling up on BatB. Is it just the Pixar hate shining through?? Personally, I would like to see a Sword in the Stone attraction, something geared more towards the male half of the population, Fantasyland always seemed a little "girly" to me, even as a kid, possibly more so. Pinocchio may translate well to a more boy-themed attraction. The boys town (or whatever that island was called) could lend itself well to a playground area or a B or C ticket. Can't say I would be that thrilled over a mine ride 7 Dwarves coaster, mostly for the same reasons everyone else has (already have a mine coaster). The one attraction I think is missing from Fantasyland that the other lands in MK have, is an original E-ticket. That is, a true E-ticket not based on an existing franchise. With the world of make believe and fantasy as it is, I would think WDI could come up with a fantastic story and wonderful attraction in the style of SpaceM, SplashM, HM, JC, PotC. When really pushed, or given adequate budgets, WDI has rarely disappointed when it comes to major E-tickets. Not including refurbs. I think WDI has it in them and I just hope they do not decide, or are forced into, solely creating attractions based on TV and movie franchises. Please give us something original, it's been too long. (EE is over two years old, the last original E-ticket that I can figure).
honestly i think they should go back to that rumored ride called like volcano mountain or fire mountain something like that, i think it would be good to have something like that there, the space really needs a roller coaster and i mean a good one at that, because even tho disney is a kid based place, you still have teenagers and adults comming and wanting something exciting for them too, so i say no dark rides, just feel that space with a masive and great themed roller coaster, anyone else agree?

I'm sorry...I whole heartedly disagree. I am 27 and I LOVE COASTERS...I dont go to Disney World for Coasters...I go for completely emersive, Highly themed and technologically advanced DARK RIDES. These rides are the soul of WDI...ground breaking, complete experiences. Any Park can throw up a coaster (see Dollywood, Hershey Park, Kings Island etc) only disney can truly blur the lines between reality and fantasy...even if for a short time.

well i live near dollywood and i know what you mean by throwing something up there, but i want disney to have at least another looping coaster, and if they do build one, i really want it to be majorly themed

I'm a little confused. Indy? Ragining Spirits? RNRC? Cali Screamin'? SM: Mission 2? Or are you just talking about MK?

I think MK, with so much more space, is sorely missing a few more dark rides. There are literally dozens of films for WDI to choose from, but I think Ariel's Grotto and the 20K plot both need to be removed, for possibly 1 or 2 dark rides, along with another E-ticket to replace 20k. I don't think the E-ticket should be movie-based, as I think it would bring imbalance to the rides already in Fantasyland. But I do think an original E-ticket and 1-2 good dark rides could fit into this area.

MK just needs a new, huge, 5 million dollar, E-ticket, thrilling, attraction! IMAGINEERS HELP THE ORIGINAL PARK!!!

Warning: No Stich, Pixar, Re-Imagineering, this could give a down wards population of the Disney Nuts!

5 Million Dollar?

Perhaps if it was 1971 that would be enough to build an E-Ticket but not today. Typically they're in the $100-150 million range now.

There is another big thread about this all ready, but regardless. This Fantasyland expansion definitely sounds like a great thing, hope it happens! :)

What about Sleeping Beauty? There are a lot of really cool rides they could come up with based on that theme. Besides, it's my favorite Disney film so they should make a ride for me. :animwink:

I'd also love to see a Pixie Hollow... and the Little Mermaid. Oh and clones of Pinocchio and Alice would be awesome. Just give us one of EVERYTHING! :dazzle:

With Disney's push for "interactive" attractions, why not "King Arthur's Jousting Arena" (Sword in the Stone) behind Poohs Playful Spot? They can build an arena for people in ECVs to "joust" people with strollers. There can even be bleachers set up for Cheerleader / Brazilian Tour Groups to sit and cheer for their favorite competitor.
