Fantasyland Expansion Rumor

You know you're a redneck when you envision a Bambi ride to be a shooter style, similar to Buzz. Sponsored by Budweiser. The giftshop could sell ear flap hats and plaid flannel shirts.

hey I resent that not all of us hunters are rednecks! Besides there is no way you could make that a shooting ride the shotgun would stick out too far:ROFLOL:

roger rabbit and mr toad rides would be awesome the RR ride at DL is an amazing ride lol if you like the rabbit i think that would be a great idea but i don't know if it would fit in fantasy land but Mr. Toad would

The skyway building is pretty. :] It should never be destroyed. They should just put the skyway back in there, I really miss it. ;[. They always have to remove the most memorable things.
I agree with you there. The building is absolutely beautiful -- architecture, themeing, etc. If anything is to be done in that area, the building should be enhanced and implemented into the design of the new attraction going into that spot.

FYI, there is VERY little space where the Fantasyland skyway station is. Pretty much the only room they have is what you see. It's entirely surrounded by the gift shop in Liberty Square (Yankee Trader?), Haunted Mansion and Small World. That's why rumors/speculation about its future use are always for a Meet n Greet or some kind of food counter. There's no room at all for an attraction.

But I agree that as much of the building should be saved, if possible. It works well architecturally with the rest of the area.

I disagree.. while there is limited space.. There is a decent amount of adjacent space.. to the rear of the mansion and small world show buildings, there is a ton of space.. and filtering guests through that narrow pass between the buildings has been done before (Soarin).... While not the most IDEAL plot for expansion, it is still entirely possible..

I would be excited for a couple new rides based off of the Classics! BatB ride would be awesome!! But a coaster??? Maybe like a wild mouse type but idk. Disney still has the rights for the Oz books, and a Oz ride was going to DL in the 50's so maybe! But I vote Mr. Toad return (he can do a Favre thing:ROFLOL:) LONG LIVE THE TOAD!

I agree that the skyway building is pretty, but you can't just keep it there and have nothing. I think they should keep the structure, but turn it into a resteraunt pavillion or somthing.

The passage that you refer to is used for backstage access. It's one of only two access points for getting trucks and other heavy vehicles into Fantasyland. (In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they get the cranes to and from the Castle when necessary, as the gate by Toontown has a lot more trees between it and the Castle).

It's also the ambulance/EMT access point for that end of Fantasyland as well as Liberty Square. The passage also would act as an emergency exit in case the park needed to be evacuated in a hurry due to fire or other large-scale event.

So, that leaves the Skyway plot of land essentially land-locked.

It's a similar issue over in Adventureland. If any new attraction were to be added between the Jungle Cruise and Pirates, they need to take the backstage access gate into account, as it's the ONLY vehicle access point for all of Adventureland (unless it's a smaller vehicle that can get through the arches of Caribbean Plaza from the Splash Mountain gate).

The Banks house could be used as an architectural transition i suppose...

I wouldn't mind seeing an update to Fantasyland also, but I think I would rather see an Alice in Wonderland or original attraction rather than a Beauty and the Beast attraction. I like Beauty and the Beast, but it does already have the show at DHS. I don't understand why people will complain that Toy Story has two attractions or Nemo has a few or that Monsters, Inc. might get another but don't have a problem with doubling up on BatB. Is it just the Pixar hate shining through?? Personally, I would like to see a Sword in the Stone attraction, something geared more towards the male half of the population, Fantasyland always seemed a little "girly" to me, even as a kid, possibly more so. Pinocchio may translate well to a more boy-themed attraction. The boys town (or whatever that island was called) could lend itself well to a playground area or a B or C ticket. Can't say I would be that thrilled over a mine ride 7 Dwarves coaster, mostly for the same reasons everyone else has (already have a mine coaster). The one attraction I think is missing from Fantasyland that the other lands in MK have, is an original E-ticket. That is, a true E-ticket not based on an existing franchise. With the world of make believe and fantasy as it is, I would think WDI could come up with a fantastic story and wonderful attraction in the style of SpaceM, SplashM, HM, JC, PotC. When really pushed, or given adequate budgets, WDI has rarely disappointed when it comes to major E-tickets. Not including refurbs. I think WDI has it in them and I just hope they do not decide, or are forced into, solely creating attractions based on TV and movie franchises. Please give us something original, it's been too long. (EE is over two years old, the last original E-ticket that I can figure).

Hmm...a kid friendly minecar ride. I remember a ride called "The Land of Dooz" (sp?) at Kings Dominion in VA, the thing went pretty slow, I can't remember much as I was 7. Anyone remember that? I wonder if Disney would go the slow route with BTMRR already in place.

Eh, Disney has done Alice in Wonderland to death in the other parks like the Alice dark ride in DL, the Wonderland resteraunt at TDL, Alice's curious Labyrinth at DLP, and not to mention all the copies of the tea cups. So it would be hard to make an original attraction.

Yea, not to mention the main access to the utilidoors is right behind iasw. How would I get to work if they stuck a ride back there? Haha
