That doesn't seem like a long time for those walls to be up, will they be doing any demolition during that time Steve?

I think it means that it will take them from April 12 to the middle of May to get all of the construction walls up. Not that they'll be up for that short period of time.

The walls will be up in a few days from the 11th. The walls are then set to come down in mid may - to be replaced with

How people many who don't usually ride Dumbo will now be riding to peek over the wall?

If' I wuz them, and of course I ain't, I'd put up the new Castle Walls first.

With barriers between them--it could be a great enticement.

You could have woodland creatures and other fantasy forest denizens making appearances atop the walls, telling people how wonderful it is "over here in the forest", pointing to the new horizon "oh! I can see beautiful castles from here!" and singing about how people should come back and visit real soon.

Well, relatively soon, anyway.

Point being--the walls are a divider that is integral to the story--and the story could begin to be told right now.

Just a thought.

*goes out to the mailbox to see if my armchair imagineering imaginary paycheck arrived yet*

^ I think that would be an interesting idea.

Also because the castle walls would be a lot nicer to look at than temp. construction walls.

They can't put up the castle wall yet, not the ones in the final design anyway. The one in the model/plans cuts right through the current Dumbo site. Dumbo is so popular with kids I don't think they plan to close the current Dumbo until the new one is complete or close to being complete. If so the castle walls will actually be one of the last things built.

Yeah, I guess you're right about Dumbo. Hadn't thought about that!
Makes sense.

OK, I'll modify that---they could stylize the construction walls to look
like cutouts of trees or something.

Anyway . . . that's why my imagineering paycheck hasn't arrived yet.

New Magic Kingdom maps were available today. (Not sure when theses were first released. Print date inside is 3/10)

Here's a side by side view of the January and March Covers. (Feb cover had Splash Mountain)

"What Will You Celebrate?" tag replaced with "Celebrate Today!" matching the maps of the other three parks.

The interesting part are the changes inside.

Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's Playful Spot have been removed from the map and attraction list. Scuttle's Landing has been removed from the list of dining locations.

Down in Tomorrowland, the Galaxy Palace Theater has finally be removed from the map.
