What do you think the possibility is that we will soon be seeing Arile's Grotto expanded to include more of a land, kind of like Mermaid Lagoon?
Slim to none. I don't see anything happening to this empty land for at least 5 years. Disney was just planning for the future when they did this.

I kinda figured.... At least they know they have prime real estate there... Hopefully they create something great... I have confidence they will.

Wow.. I didn't think that was huge... lol well.. not doing anything else with it shows they have it left for something... Toon Town expansion or whatever...

(Rogger rabbit anyone?)

People keep mentioning Roger Rabbit. EVERYTHING I have read has stated that the licensing agreement has run out on Roger Rabbit... Which is why he's no longer in the parades at Disneyland as well. I heard conflicting stories on whether Disney had the option to re-up on rights or not... But even if they had the option, they didn't exercise them.

From what I understand, anything containing Roger at the time of expiration was grandfathered... Like Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin... Anything new couldn't include him, like the new parades at DL and the 50th Celebration additions.

This would cut out the possibility of a RR clone at Toon Town. Unless they put other characters in as an overlay, but then that wouldn't exactly make good sense.

I'd put money on the fact that Imagineers drool over the fact all this land is sitting there going unused next to Fantasy Land... But I'd also put money on the fact that it will remain that way for quite some time. Good business says that right now MK doesn't need a big splash like that. The timing isn't right.

Hey....someone gets it. :)

I am not sure why people always latch onto old concepts.....Roger Rabbit dark ride, Mary Poppins dark ride, a new version of 20K.....

This land needs to be used for something dramatic and groundbreaking.....it needs to be the next Splash Mountain, not the next Peter Pan.

And there is no hurry.....MK is doing fine with the grassy field.

It ALMOST makes you wish for a downturn in tourism, Universal to really raise the bar or something!! That's what it's going to take to get another big e-ticket in the Magic Kingdom anytime in the new future.

Can Universal raise the bar? What were Disney repsonses to IOA and MUMMY?? Not that I consider IOA and MUMMY raising the bar.. Spider-Man attraction, maybe... But I do not find anything at Universal bar raising and setting the standard...

I've never thought of it that way, but I guess you are right.

You're welcome to check out the progress of the demo on my site: http://www.giveneyestosee.com/20k/

I've got pictures throughout the whole process posted.

It looks weird to see all that open space. The way they have the landscaping around Pooh's now comes off a little chlosterphobic to be. Seems like they could easily have opened it up a bit more. The Lagoon obviously felt much roomier then how it is currently.

You my friend, are awesome. I haven't had time to look at the site much, but from what I've seen, it's great.

Agreed... The more probable trigger would be a drop in tourism. Although you never know. Spider-Man is nothing short of incredible. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again. It could happen.

That's it!! Let's all boycott and not go to the Magic Kingdom... Causing drops in attendance... Which means no crowds and no lines... Eventually causing a knee-jerk E-ticket to be built!!

You guys go first. I'll keep you posted on the dropping lines and crowd levels. :lookaroun

No you can go first

Honestly I don't spend NEARLY as much time in the MK as I used to, I still enjoy my time there.
