No, my confidence it actually pretty high that it'll be around for years. But as we know things change all the time at DLR. Management changes as well. So we don't know what the next management will do. They may decide that a night time parade is too expense to run and cut it completely. That is why I won't bet.

Fair enough. I was also kidding about wanting to partake in a bet that takes 25 years to collect .

I thought the current MSEP music was unchanged since 2009.

I could be incorrect, but my understanding is that things had to be updated due to missing floats. So they went back to the 1977 intro with some tweaks, and used the 2009 version with updates for missing floats. So its like a mishmash of different versions.

Anyways, my point was they haven't used the same version of the song for the last 45 years. So why would we think they couldn't use PTN floats with an updated soundtrack for 25+ years or more.

To expand on that, they haven't even used the same floats for the last 45 years with MSEP. So PTN can also be updated with soundtrack and floats for the next 25+ years or more just like MSEP.

Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Star Wars float added to PTN for the 2019 SWL opening. We should start another thread about PTN if we really want to continue this discussion.

Alright that is enough of derailing this thread for me. Back to F! discussions.

MSEP is tired. If a Star Wars float is ever added to PtN, I will most likely hate it.

Anyways, I really wish Pan was still in the show. Curious to see how they plan to pull Pirates off, but I'm skeptical.

I mean, they couldn't even successfully shoehorn Jack Sparrow into the ride his franchise is based on- not sure how well they can shoehorn it into a show about Mickey's Imagination. But I'm hoping for the best.

Comparing altering F! to MB is like comparing apples to oranges.

MB was able to distance itself enough from Tot that it doesn't feel like "tot" (from what I can tell from y'alls reviews) but everytime someone sees F!, the changes will stick out since we've been conditioned for 25 years. When we see the Columbia and all the performers and stuff, I will be very much reminded of Pan and will judge the scene that much harder.

The closest example I can think of is the live action beauty and the Beast- every change in the songs, and the new songs all really stood out to me. I mentally rejected them- because it wasn't the Beauty and the Beast I was used to.
Well, people thought they MB would feel and look too much like TOT.. and look at it, it's amazing. Just give F!(!) a chance, the amazing technology and new scenes might make you forget about Pan and the other scenes going away. The technology will be breathtaking and amazing, too be honest, I wanted a refresh of Fantasmic! years before because I thought it would be nice to change things up and add even newer technology.

Oh since we are talking about PTN, I love the parade, technology is amazing. I just feel that it's kinda short and there could be a lot more opportunities, like I wish the princesses got their own floats instead of being towed by Belle. There definitely could be more dancers too, there are A LOT in MSEP.

Oh, Honey, no. Our dancers couldn't possibly dance more effeminately! LOL Careful, your Freudian slip is showing!

Oh c'mon... I'm so not a parade guy and even I love PTN! That spirally meat grinder kinda thing at the end on Mickey's float is pretty neat.

I'm not a parade guy either, and I enjoyed Paint The Night and sat thru it several times during its run. I'd like to see it return to Disneyland later this year.

I saw about 3 minutes of MSEP a few months ago from the back of a crowd at Jolly Holiday Bakery, and I was like "Yup, it's that old tired parade from the 70's. Okay, check, moving on..." and I walked back into Adventureland.

But I am very much looking forward to the new Fantasmic!. I'm sure they will do it up right. And compared to what WDW passes off as a Fantasmic!, Disneyland's was already vastly superior. I'm also looking forward to a trip later this year to Japan; I saw Tokyo's Fantasmic! a couple years ago and it was very, um, high concept. I'm looking forward to a fresh compare/contrast between Anaheim's new version and Tokyo's version.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I read it on a Youtube comment, but the updated show seems to be getting negative reviews from those within the entertainment team who have seen it. The scenes supposedly don't mesh well, as they are directly copied from the TDS show, and there are still lots of technical issues with the mapping technology on the Columbia. The comment even goes as far as revealing that the show has been dubbed "FanTRASHmic".
It does leave me quite concerned.

I also find the apparent Columbia projection issues interesting to hear, as the new Pirates segment in the show has had no mention in any of the DPB posts yet.

Yikes. Hopefully they can easily switch back to the original version if need be but use the updated lighting and projections.

Looks like we've found our next thing to fret about now that the Mission Breakout hysteria has subsided.

I had a bad feeling about this to begin with, mostly because I know the people responsible for making the original Fantasmic! great are gone and nowadays we get pretty but soulless shows like World of Color. These rumors aren't reassuring.

BTW, here's more from Natalie Price at MiceChat:
Well, it wasn't cut. One morning before park opening they were playing the entire soundtrack to Fantasmic along the river, and they had the Pirates of The Caribbean segment. A little annoying in my opinion because there was too much of Captain Jack arguing with a British girl about wanting his compass back. Was the whole compass thing in the new movie? Haven't seen it.

Also, based on what I heard, the Pinocchio segment is being replaced by Aladdin, and the dancing monkeys with The Lion King.

But how exciting it was after more than a year and a half to hear Fantasmic along the river again, even though it was just the soundtrack during the day. Kind of gave me chills.
