Epcot suffering

I have to disagree with most of the hate that is tossed in Epcot's direction. It is my favorite park. When I went there as a teenager (circa 86-91) I remember that I liked it but I was also, after a few hours of vintage Epcot Center, desperate for a thrill. The addition of more thrilling rides has been a huge plus.

The touch screens in SSE get slammed a lot, but those touch screens really engaged my kids in that ride in a way that the old version would not have. In fact, SSE became my 5 year old son's favorite ride in all of WDW. We rode it four times in one day at his request. And the touch screens were what got him really invested in the ride. He gets the point of SSE, at least to this extent: we're going through human history and at the end we go to the future, and I get to help decide the future. I guarantee the old TV screens with prancing children and "Tomorrow's Child" would not have generated the same level of interest in him.

Adding Nemo to the Living Seas accomplished the same thing. Seeing Nemo in ride so enchanted my kids that they fell in love with the rest of the pavilion and wandered around looking and learning about the different marine life for a long time.

I will agree with two things: Future world is way too cluttered these days with tombstones and random stuff everywhere. EPCOT Center had a nice, open, futuristic and clean look that is missing now.

And I do miss Horizons. The last time I rode it was in 1991, and I have to admit, it was kind of empty then even in the middle of July and it was looking kind of dated, but a major refurbishment would have been preferable to knocking the building down. Still, I don't resent Mission: Space. It's a fun ride, and my son loves Green Team. He was all excited that he got to press a button during the ride, and he still to this day talks about how we almost crashed into the canyon on Mars (he thinks he saved the day with his button press).

Epcot was and is the best park at WDW IMHO

It was a bit boaring I like the changes but I wish they werent as cheap like the screen they could have that and the sets like they used to. Dreamfinder on the otherhand all kids love dreamfinder. Mishion space is good to but they dont need to tear down horizons. They know when a ride sponcership expires they should of waited untill wonders of life was out make it a life center make a planetarium in the big bubble part and put mishion space in the building and make a star battle ball room and keep horizons. Or make mishion space in the building with horizons that is futureistic travel that would fit. Or even put mishion space in an innoventions building. Thats not what botheres ma and i might have to change the main post I am also disapointed in just the landscape like the gardens there sloppy and not like they used to be there overgrown. Ginding nemo is good but they also scaled down on they took away alot of tanks and that disapoints me. I am just tired of them scaling down is what I should say there getting cheap and lazy.

Not sure how anything you said was "technical."

As for the direction, I think you'll find most people that have watched EPCOT (and the Center) evolve over the past 25 years, would say it's about to make a re-emergence into being what it used to be. Basically, your opinion of it being dead, is about four or five years to late.

I'll say it again Epcot Center is gone. Epcot is in bad shape here is proof of this bad shape.

The current state of JII and UOE is almost 20 out of date.
SSE The ending is a joke compared to past versions.
WOL: There is no excuse for that building to be closed, if they wanted to do away with the theme then fine, but the building shoud not just be used for the FW festival. If they fix even half of these problems it will start to show life again.

Pretty mutch hoe the imagineers are not putting as mutch thought and detailinto the attractions and there gatting a little cheap. And epcot is getting a little sloppy and runed down I think.

I'm sorry but I disagree. Universe of Energy is only 13 years old, and JII is 7 years old. So they're pretty far from 20 years out of date. I think you were trying to say they're 20 years out of date, but i apologize if i misunderstood. :)

SSE The ending is a joke compared to past versions.

Again i disagree. The first two versions just had screens above with different images, the new one is much more interactive, although you're right about the third version being better.

WOL: There is no excuse for that building to be closed, if they wanted to do away with the theme then fine, but the building shoud not just be used for the FW festival. If they fix even half of these problems it will start to show life again.

I agree with that, they should definitely put something in there.

As stated earlier, JII is only seven years old, and UofE is 13. Now the buildings....yes they are 26 years old. But they've been painted, so they've been updated recently too. Oops. There goes that argument.

SSE's new ending is far batter than the last one, IMO. And I like it more than the original (I know, purists will beat me).

Your argument that it's dead just isn't true.

In the last five years, they've added multiple additions to Innoventions, did redo on SSE, painted UofE, rethemed the Seas, upgraded Living with the Land, fixed the Fountain of Nations, closed a pavilion that was in horrible shape (negative turned into a positive), repainted Japan, enhanced the Japan sit down restaurant, redid the sit down restaurant in China, repainted China, rethemed Rio de Tiempo, redid the movie in China, redid the movie in Canada, added the Kim Possible Missions......

DO YOU WANT ME TO GO ON??????

Look at the ascent to SSE. I don't see any problems.

Nothing wrong at all nothing just the old imagineers put some great well thought out into it with the sets, the music and the naration all put together was a masterpiece and i wish they would do the same with this one. Its good it gets the point in but its not art. I am artsy so I will reconize that right away I am the artsy type. My History and Math schools are worst than my spelling and grammar but i can make a ride, design or make music no problum. I did graduate on time so thats good. I am going to a music and arts school like video and audio so no worrys no acedemics.

Um, you do realize that even musicians and artists are expected to be able to communicate in a vaguely understandable fashion, right?

If whatever school you end up at doesn't offer any kind of "basic human written communication 101" perhaps you could at least try out this important combo as a sort of extracurricular project. Trust me, people will appreciate it!

Well, if I had to grade your performance so far, I'd say it's a solid "D-"

I know I am torturing you right now but I have so mutch going on this is the least of my worries.
Nope, not torturing me at all, but perhaps it would be a good idea to sort out your life and your various problems first, then drop back by once you have the time to actually articulate your nonsensical rantings in a way the rest of us can understand.

My main point is I will always notice a flaw in epcot of be unsatisfied.
My main point is the flaws in your attempts at written communication leaves everyone else that doesn't understand gibberish not only unsatisfied, but extremely confused.

I did struggle alot in school and wad dweprived of a good education in the learning canter system from grade 4 to 8 and didnt learn a thing.

I am just lazy when I am not getting a grade.
Perhaps your "lazy" teachers weren't getting a grade either. Even so, a little personal responsibility goes a long way.

I have been recomended those books have you ever or know anyone who uses them????
No, I don't, but special jobs require special tools.

Spelling aside, please understand how things work before blasting WDI. The `Imagineers` can only work with the timeframe and budgets they have. Don`t blame them.

This version if the ride is only 13 years old but the content like solar energy is more than 20 years old. I should have been more specific. It should be about futuristic energy sources.

Opinion we will agree to disagree.

Wow Disney loved your standards a paint job on UOE, that is basic maintence.

Also WOL might have been in bad shape but to look at it's closing as a positive is ridiculos. There is no excuse for that space to be wasted we are spoiled with space in WDW, DL management would not ley that happen. I don't want to here the no sponsor excuse because 90% of the attractions in WDW operate without a sponsor.

Another area I agree with you is The Land this is the sole pavilion that I find nothing wrong with.

  1. (Indian, Sri Lanka) A kind of hoe used for digging, especially for coffee planting.

In English and Indian in the same thread. Hoe-ly cow!

All this talk about cheap is driving me nuts. Complain about WDC going cheap on rides and shows in one thread then complain about prices going up in another thread then complain about services being reduced in another and complaining about no discounts in another. Please understand that in order to add more details to rides and shows it take lots of money. Comparing to a Six Flags is insane. When WDW puts in E-ticket rides like EE, MS & TT the budget were all 100+ mil when Six Flags may spend 15 - 20 mil on there top rides.
