I agree....EPCOT is missing it's classics. Something it needs. Every other park has them, but EPCOT? Nope?

Yes, EPCOT does need to make money, and does need to change periodically, but it needs to do that in a way with respect for the original, and in terms of technology. Not just ripping out a attraction for the sake of it. Hello, JII....

Spaceship Earth: Went on a massive rehab Gutted the ending which was a total masterpiece with the sets and the music. 2007 it opended up left with 3 new sets that werent that great and a boaring tunnel with a screen with horribul cartoons. Keep the screens but why take away the beautiful sets and out up bllack walls. Make new sets and keep the old music. The mew music sounds comercial.

Wow, three new sets....the rest of them are all the same. How is that really all that different? Is mew music like just cows singing?

EPCOT: Cheap and is getting run down.they took away all the unique art. Tings are getting rined down. The flowerbeds are getting sloppy and it is becoming a mess. I am glad they finally are fixing he fountain I love the fountain but besides the fountain I am almost ready to kiss epcot goodby. Nothing beats the vintage epcot. It was an adult park but thats no longer now it is just like any other 6 flags.

I'll say it again, but EPCOT has gotten a LOT of love over the past three years. And to compare it to Six Flags, is well, uneducated blather.

Epcot Center is dead and never coming back. Epcot is on life support with two gaping holes torn in it's body aka TLS and WOL. If it keeps going in this pitiful direction they should change the parks name.

Um, no. It's not dead or on life support. Keep thinking that though.... :hammer:

Y'all are being mean...:p

Not mean, if you're going to present such a thread, better be able to spell, and know what you're talking about. :animwink: Mamoties? Mew music? ov? Good gravy.

I agree with much of what you are saying.
My opinion is that the old Epcot was not as profitable as the-powers-that-be would like. I feel like everytime a park isn't as profitable, they throw some characters at it.
The had a wonderful theme there. I ever prefer the world of motion over test track. Visitors are looking for thrills and things for their children to enjoy. This is the result.

So right but they messed with the wrong things. Like world of motion that ride never phazed eve you know it was like the spaceship earth travel vershion. Test track at least includes technology and is a good ride. I used to confuse world ot motion with the 3 ither slow rides that were way better. I think they should of kept horizons and put spaceship earth in it and used it as a simulator fou future traveling. I am suprised noone picked up horizons and just updated it and it even wanst outdated they just had to take 21st centry out of the plot. im not mad about change I am just upset how they dimolish the artwork and the music syncronized to it and gat a little lazy with the creativity. I just wish the new rides would have a little more talent in them like thay used to spaceship earth screens could stay I just miss the sets I wish they would make new ones. I also wish they kept dreamfinder I dont care if they changed the ride it is not half bad but I thought it was boaring.

I agree with 'some' of what your saying, but they are always going to be changing things, whether we like the changes or not. Epcot is and always will be our favorite park no matter what they do to it. If your unhappy with the park as a whole - don't go.

Im not opposed to change I still love epcot I just wish they would put a little more into the attractions like they used to and that alone would make them just as good or even better than the egzisting. And I wish they wouldnt mess with the classics. Epcot does need to expand.

Well since the name Epcot Center is no longer used and a lot of EC classic attractions are gone yes it is dead.

Whats going on at epcot is davistating. they got rid of so many beautiful classics and great masterpieces like Horizons,Wonders of life, Dreamfinder, They destroyed the Living Seas and to finish it all off they destroyed Spaceship Earth. It tenders me up to see what they have done to epcot. The imagineers replaced all the attractions with not cheap but lazy creativity. They dont put their all into it like they used to.

Imagination: Gte rid ov a well loved ride and replace it with a ride that is just cheap and boaring but does the job.

The Living Seas; I remember going to the Living Seas and seeing the aquariums and a ride that focuses on the environment. Last time I went there was a big statue of Nemo the tanks were gon at least the glass and made it more walking space. I remember looking for the mamoties and finding that space. The last time i went there I looked at the ride and I could picture the smell of a daycare and didnt even bother.

Wonders of life: They better be putting horizns in that spot but I bet if they do it will probaly be cheap but i will check it out anyway.

I am not opposed to change I just think the imagineers need to get it together and put their all into the attractions instead of just throwing them together. They need to replace great work with something just as good or better. If they put in their all like they did on the replaced attractions they would be just as good or even better.

1. Vintage Epcot was the ultimate theme park masterpiece.

2. Modern Epcot is the greatest theme park in the world.

I believe both these statements to be true. I further believe that neither statement would be true without the park having existed in both forms. I further believe that the park having both forms does not diminishes the greatness of either.

And if the OP compares Epcot to Six Flags again, I might have to drop a triple MousDad :fork::fork::fork:.

Aha! Sir, you win. EPCOT Center becomes Epcot and Epcot needs EPCOT Center.

Makes me scared, if they were to ever build a WESTCot...It wouldn't have that history.

Very good way of putting this MousDad. I believe that MOST people wouldn't appreciate vintage EPCOT today if there had been no changes. I wish it wouldn't have had to change, but that's not reality. It guess it did have to be "dumb downed" somewhat for todays population-too bad though.

In my opinion I have to disagree.

Spaceship Earth- I have mixed feelings on this one. I loved the original so there were aspects that I personally didn't like. The new, updated show scenes are a nice improvement over the previous ones and really help update the pavilion. The finale, however, could use some work. I know I might be in the minority but I enjoy the cartoons at the end. It will bring more people back to the ride when no one would return again. The triangles need some work though.

The Seas- Being as someone who was fortunate enough to visit the Living Seas before it changed. I will say, I like the new pavilion WAY more. The original was so dry and boring. I never rode the seacabs before but judging by videos, it really lacked detail. The updated pavilion is far more colorful and fun. The ride is very average for me but I like the new pavilion way more.

Universe Of Energy- I have never ridden the original show but I will say that the new film is incredible. It takes it's humour and blends it with education to create a very fun show. It is somewhat outdated though and could use an update but for the time being, it works well.

Horizons- Once again I never rode the original so I have high regards for Mission Space. It is an okay ride, and it does fit in with Epcot better than some rides.
