I believe a new agreement came into force that just took into account the current situation around the lake. It basically was simply giving guest access from the hotels to the WS entry. The monorail clause was a pullback to say if a monorail - which was one of the planned options for future development initially - was built to the Swalphin, then the easement would go to the monorail station instead.

Nice find.

Yep, this is basically what this document says:

"...the Promenade Easement shall revive and continue from the Hotel Property only to a point on the Promenade nearest to the place of embarkation and debarkation for the monorail..."

Posts like this are outright hostile and unnecessary. If someone doesn't agree, that's okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Let the people who want to talk about it talk about it without being disrupted by posts like these.

Sorry, you can't say everyone is entitled to their opinion, but call someone out because you don't like what they posted. There was nothing hostile in that post, he was just expressing his opinion in the course of this thread.

Okay, I'm done here. It's reached a point where I'm getting nothing but stress. Only a few are to blame here. I feel like I'm on trial... For what? For wanting more monorails? Oooooo, ahhhhh, shame on me for trying to think of ways to get the cost down!!

Any way, it was fun, but now it's something I don't look forward to each time I go online. So, I'm just going to avoid it period and take a break for a few months. I do appreciate those who I did have an intellectual discussion with, and those who shared ideas with me. This "break" is really for my health. If I'm seeing a fifth gate in a mount of dirt, I guess that's a sign that I need to take a break.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

If I trolled you each time you posted, I'd lead the forums in that number. And curiously, I never said I was against expanding the monorail. What I said, yet again, was that Disney is not going to do so any time soon. You haven't discovered any new footers, or some new secret plans for monorail expansion (ditto for a 5th gate or secret plans to bring Marvel into WDW). As of right now, Disney obviously sees the bussess as their most financially viable modes of (for the majority) transportation. And they're not going to invest in the monorails any time soon, save to possibly purchase new trains or replace older ones.

And since you apparently missed it, what I said was "Over the course of the decade in which you have been posting." Nowhere did I say you've been posting over multiple decades. Thankfully......
If what you said is true, we would be in perfect agreement and we wouldn't be arguing because I agree with the gist of what you just said. I made no claims in finding monorail "secrets". The only claim I made is that there are ways to reduce the cost of expansion compared to official proposals I've seen. In other words, I don't buy the excuses they give. If you do, then that's where are differences are. I'm taking a break from posting for a short while.

There is also a system running underground in Washington DC called the Capital Subway. It is a Disney built WEDway peoplemover. Only lawmakers can ride it.

It isn't Disney built, and people other than lawmakers can ride it. But it does exist.

No, because you would still believe the various rumors surrounding the imminent return of the monorails, based on "new" information or supposed footers suddenly uncovered by your extensive "research." And you would still insist that your "plan" would save the company money, ignoring the fact that such investment is beyond the pale of what Disney is looking to invest in their transportation system for the foreseeable future.

And it's not "buy(ing) the excuses." It's called reality.....

Sorry to hear that. I enjoy these discussions.

Sadly the reality is Disney is investing in buses. They have tested the double buses and now started construction on making the bus stops larger.

I wish someone could present a cost savings analysis for something other than buses. They have become worst every year.

If they invested a mere fraction of what it would cost to expand the monorails, their bus system could put all other municipal transit systems to shame.

Their Magic-In-Motion system - combined with CCTV surveillance of each bus stop (to count heads), displays at each bus stop that display wait times for each bus loop, and perhaps even a box-o-buttons at the multi-destination stops (like at Resorts, where all park buses use one stop) where guests can hit a button to tell the system someone's waiting for the MK bus - could streamline and nearly perfect the bus system.

City Bus systems around the country can post fixed signs that say a certain bus will be at this stop at 12:47pm, and the bus will be there at 12:47pm! In the city of West Lafayette, IN (Purdue University), they put up LED signs that will tell you exactly when the next bus will be there. So, if you're sitting there and it feels like "forever", you will at least know how long it's really been.

Disney's system can do this, they're just under-utilizing it to the point of embarrassment.

I really like the button system. That would eliminate the CM that uses a radio to call someone. I don't think he calling a bus as I never saw anything come out of his call. lol

Unless they are just about to turn into the bus stop, they cannot tell you exactly when they will be there in the way you are suggesting. Many transit systems exist today that use the internet to see exactly where they are, but there are to many variables too determine when they will get to you. It will let you know, at least, that one is on the way, and that's a big help. When you're standing there, hot and tired, it certainly helps to be able to confirm that relief is on the way.

Considering that right now they are having a tough time to get a simple reservation made without screwing everything up, their bus app., will probably show the Cincinnati bus system instead of WDW's!:p It never stops amusing me how a place that was always considered cutting edge in technology has so many problems just doing routine stuff at this point.

:D Well Tom, your wish is WDW's command. They announced about 8 months ago that they are going to do just what you said..........Monitors at each stop to let everyone when the next bus for each destination is due..................camera's to count heads as you say, to redirect buses when needed

I believe its going to be done with the expansion of the bus loops at the MK.

I'm still here. I'm going to keep a low profile for the time being. I shouldn't have to defend myself for having unconventional points of views each and every time I have something to say. It's very energy consuming. My unconventional view points should be expected and it should be just accepted that I will always have these points view and just deal it instead of feeling obligated to attack it each time and force me to go on the energy draining defensive each time.

All you have to do is end your post with a simple...JMHO, and you'll be golden. JMHO!:)
