Actually Soarin is over behind the land. Also, you can actually see the building from Canada while "up in the mountain". I hope Disney does something to hide that building...
You can see Soarin' from across the lagoon too! I don't remember which country but you can see it...looks like a giant gray building in the middle of Canada.

Something to note for Food & Wine Today...

Today is CM preview for Food & Wine since it opens tomorrow officially. CMs can get their usual # of guests in free today without deducting from their annual allowance on their passes.

So, you may see a spike in attendance from that, too.

The crane is for SE . . .

Also, nearly every Future World pavilion has had some effect from Jeanne. One report says that nearly every pavilion has some sort of "leak" or "flood."

well, i guess someone in the area needs to go on over and see if they have a chainsaw of somesort, cutting a hole in the side of the geosphere so they can ruin a wonderful attraction.

sorry, im having a negative day.

Maybe the crane was there for Soarin?

No, I think what I posted seems to be the more plausible explanation.

Saw this posted at miceage about the cranes at Epcot. So, take it as you will.

But Jeanne did manage to succeed where Charley and Frances did not, in that one building did finally succumb to the onslaught of wind and rain: the Living Seas pavilion at Epcot. The Living Seas was the only facility to not reopen the day after Jeanne, and Disney announced it would stay closed until next weekend. Officially, details were not given out. However, the large number of workers spotted on the roof the next day gave testament to a likely reason: roof damage, possibly in conjunction with water damage seeping in from gaps in the ceiling. This remains speculation, but the irony would be delicious, if true. The only exhibit in all of Disney World damaged by water would be the facility dedicated to water!

Grizz-- do you know when the wand will go if it's isnt PERMANENT?

I hate that dumb wand. It looks pretty bad.
I was told last night that it will be there "forever." Forever means, of course, unless there is a miracle.

Years ago (from speculation, nothing official), I heard the wand would be down in the next couple of years. Maps and commercials show SE without it. I hope for the latter, but sadly expect the former.

It's really not as bad as you may think it is. Epcot just went through THREE hurricanes in the last few weeks - and it has done extremely well considering the eye of a major hurricane practically went through it just a few days ago. The wand, however, will be there.

Of course! Rehabs are necessary, but the only closed Epcot pavilion to my knowledge will be the Wonders of Life.

Have a great COUNTDOWN. :D

I just got home from work and while driving down the Ocesola Parkway through disney, I saw a yellow crane exactly like the one that was behind SSE on wed leaving disney. I'm 99% sure this was the same one and the crane is now gone.
