Wonder what kind of damage SE suffered. The tiles are supposed to channel water, so I'm guessing some kind of damage to the tiles?

I really didn't see any at all, there was only one spot that looked like the paint for whater it is covered with was worn off, but other than that, it looked fine...

the crane was over the post show area so there may have been damage in there and since the area is under rehab it may be out of sight to the guests.

Saw this posted at miceage about the cranes at Epcot. So, take it as you will.

But Jeanne did manage to succeed where Charley and Frances did not, in that one building did finally succumb to the onslaught of wind and rain: the Living Seas pavilion at Epcot. The Living Seas was the only facility to not reopen the day after Jeanne, and Disney announced it would stay closed until next weekend. Officially, details were not given out. However, the large number of workers spotted on the roof the next day gave testament to a likely reason: roof damage, possibly in conjunction with water damage seeping in from gaps in the ceiling. This remains speculation, but the irony would be delicious, if true. The only exhibit in all of Disney World damaged by water would be the facility dedicated to water!

Living Seas was open yesterday when I went for the soft opening of the Food and Wine Festival. The only possible damage I saw was near one of the tanks...it was a small area roped off (you could walk right around it). The carpet had a water stain as well as salt. I also saw the crane at SE and wondered why it was there.

No, I think what I posted seems to be the more plausible explanation.

Actually, no. The crane is nowhere near the Living Seas. It is right next to SE.

Apparently DarkMeasures does not like the fact that I like the wand....as he gave me negative feedback of "**** you" for me stating that I like the wand.

That's redicorous! Definitely not worthy of negative feedback and especially not in that form.

I like the wand too (although sometimes I do miss the pre wand days).

I must quickly jump on this bandwagon as well and state my liking for the wand. I thought that it was really cool when I was there for the Millennium celebration and even more happy to find out that it was still there on my return a couple years later. I think that it adds a neat little touch to SSE, not that it really needed it though.

Exactly! It adds a special touch to the icon for me.

Well said! I, too, got to go to the millennium celebration and was so excited to see the wand during that time. I thought it was temporary at the time, but now I'm glad to see that it stayed. Some of my coolest memories of WDW (like my cp) were with the wand, so that adds to the specialness (is that a word?) of it. Plus I like sorcerer Mickey and the magic that he brings, which really is what the wand sorta does to SSE. I would definitely be sad to see the wand go because at this point it's a part of Epcot, imo.

I know!

Maybe they're just waiting for the new sponser to give them the paycheck so they can drop in the new signage for SE!!

Or maybe they're just getting ready to finally 'drop' something in the post-show. (you know...since the whole Timeracers is bust...)

Or maybe he's lost! :D

Or maybe they're just screwing with WDWMagic members and pretending something is happening just to get us all riled-up and post all kinds of frivilous crap on-and on-and on

Add me to the list of wand lovers...it adds a touch of Sorcerer Mickey magic.

And as far as the abusive language ...it was totally uncalled for and unacceptable. Hope you let Steve know.

I don't like the wand. It was a great addition for the Millinium celebration, but now I just feel that it detracts from the nobleness of what was one of the most majestic pieces of architecture in the world. I'm not saying that the wand doesn't look good, I just think that it was much better as a temporary addition.

Frank Wells I don't think would have ever let that thing stay up...
