DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Has Disney actually called it an expansion? I checked two of the Disney Parks Blog posts about it and neither uses the work expansion.
About $30 billion has been earmarked for “capacity expanding investments” in parks and resorts (not including cruise fleet expansion).

Does Dinosaur typically operate at full-capacity?

I think it pretty consistently has a 30-minute wait or thereabouts? The queue isn't necessarily filled to capacity, but it doesn't seem like it dips into the 10- or 15-minute territory that denotes walk-on very often.

🙄 Yeah, I know, I still have my Kron and Bruton Happy Meal toys.

But come on, everybody uses this as a justification, but for all intents and purposes Dinosaur the ride is completely independent from Dinosaur the movie. No one goes on Dinosaur because of the movie. Seeker isn't in the movie.
Like the waterworld stunt show, its a theme park attraction that managed to outlive the IP that inspired it. This is called the "Rodeo Burger effect". Named after the sandwhich burger king introduced to promote Small Soldiers. A movie only Joe Dante purists remember.

1. The footprint of the park that is used for guest enjoyment will increase with some previous BoH area being taken over for the Encanto ride.

2. The Encanto ride and the carousel should be providing extra capacity compared to what they are taking over.

TWDC never promised that the $60B capex wouldn't be used for rethemes or rebuilds.
Are they doing anything from the Emperor’s New Groove? Is this to be all South American themed ? Hopefully they put in a wine bar with wines from Chile and Argentina !

So, do we see Burbank continue the trend of spreading out large construction costs against many, MANY financial quarters books to soften each report to Wall Street? Do we see Burbank creep this buildout along at a snale's pace and keep those construction company payout checks and monthy costs down? Will there be many times that we peek behind construction walls only to see a small number of people, or nobody working there at all?

Yeah,...I think so.

Id think an UP expansion to this area would make the most sense in terms of IP. Given the movie goes to the Amazon for most of it.

Given the huge presence of Wilderness Explorers, Kevin, Russell, and Doug already at the park

Kevin will definitely walk this new land when it open

$30 billion over 11 parks (not counting TDR) over a decade, plus whatever resort spending gets included in that bucket, isn’t exactly awe-inspiring.

Funny what happens to that big, massive, talking-point number when you start breaking it down.

Wilderness explorers in every single land including rafiki?

Russell and Doug meeting in Discovery Island

Kevin walking through Asia and Dinoland every Day?

Doug and Russell statutes in asia(okay, this one less)

That IP is spread over the entire park in every land

Even Pandora

You can't say that about many other things in other parks. Its literally got it's own staff and leadership team for those who wear the explorer costume.

Well, there's also the statement about $17B for WDW alone, and $60B for all of parks *and experiences* (i.e. DCL).

Several of us noted at the time of those announcements that, over 10 years, it's pretty much what Disney has already been spending. So, this isn't particularly extraordinary.

However, it is good news that they aren't returning to the doldrums of decades ago when a pittance was spent on Capex. At least, not for the next 10 years.

Only time will tell what the alleged $17B for WDW will get us over the 10 year period.

Are we 1 or 2 years into the ten years? When did this 10 year clock start?

Could you just chill your over-eager desire to score points against Disney? Take a breath. Touch some grass. Disney isn't being tried before the Celestial Judgment with you as the prosecutor.

Your mad rush to score those points is incredibly transparent and you wind up posting foolishness as you trip over yourself posting nonsense.

I just posted how the promised billions wasn't that big a deal. Me. The shill. I took the wind out of Disney's sail.

But that's not enough for you, is it? Here you are trying to gather evidence for your next tear-down post or dumb meme art.

Give it a rest.

I will say this is a perfectly crafted non answer with just the right amount of sarcasm and mocking. ;)

Well done. Iger would be pleased. Keep up the good work. ;)

I am going outside to talk to my trees now. ;)

$30 billion in capacity expanding investments (new projects) is quite a lot. It’s actually more impressive to me than the $60 billion figure. Bear in mind, the $30 billion doesn’t include tech and maintenance capex either.

There are more Imagineers working at WDI right now than at any other time in Walt Disney Imagineering’s history.
