I've overheard parents tell their kids that the animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris are robots so I've gotta imagine cast members have conversations with some pretty stupid people.

Just to confirm this, I once overheard a group of people in line for Everest complaining about how the everything about Everest looked old and shouldnt look old since it just opened.:brick::brick::brick::brick:

Lee: "So is the Yeti in A-Mode or B-Mode?"

CM: "The Yeti is a very unpredictable and mysterious beast, sir. His moods are unknown to us."

Lee: "Right, but seriously...you got him moving today or not?"

CM: "Only the most intrepid and fortunate explorers have caught a glimpse of his movement. May you be so blessed on your venture this day."

Lee: *stares intently*

CM: "B-Mode! Sheesh! Have a magical frikkin' day!"

Very good. Actually not that far off.
The best ones were from CM's who knew who I was. They often went like this:
Lee: So. Yeti movin' today?
CM: What do you think?
Lee: Doubt it.
CM: Good call.
Lee: Think ya'll will get him movin' later in the week?
CM: Wouldn't wanna put money on it. (*rolls eyes*)

That's great. Basically the conversation I had with my friend last time I was down there.

Also It is a possibility that within the past 4 years technology has evolved enough to make yeti 2.0 to work in A-mode without any noticeable difference from yeti 1.0 and not create more foundation problems

I wonder what C mode is... a team of CMs using the arm on stick to make it move?

Not at all.
The often whispered-about C-mode is much more elaborate than an arm on a stick.
To initiate C-Mode, they first turn off all the lights on the Yeti.
Then CMs all draw straws.

The loser......has to put on the suit.

Most likely newbies using what they're trained to say.

If they don't know who they're talking to (fanboy or new park guest) then it wouldn't make sense for them to say... "Yeah, SSE has a pretty good beginning, not that great of a narrator, and a horrible ending. It's dark and theres triangles." Then again, if you knew the person, it would be completely different.

I saw it in A mode once. There was a Disney suit there the week before or something and they'd apparently fixed it and just let it run it's course. I got to see it moving a few rides(single rider ftw) then the next day I went with my sister and it wasn't moving. I was ticked, I obviously knew what had happened as I checked to make sure it was in A-Mode recently and that the change wasn't just in my head. It was some time in '07 I think.

I don't know what "mode" I'd call the yeti. It was amazing in 2007. The strobes and "fake movement" effect in 2009 was "ok". During our recent visit, if I hadn't known where to look I would have missed him completely.

At this point, a new less advanced or active yeti would be somewhat of a savior for what has been a significant failure. Though, I support and applaud their efforts. Meaning, they took a risk, tried something new and gave us what we wanted (a new advanced animatronic vs. a 3D screen).

So, while I'm sorely disappointed in the Yeti. I'm still thrilled as hell they did it. I hope this doesn't prevent them from taking these risks again.

That is AWESOME.

Why isn't there a yeti walk around character?

Because that would be incredibly lame.

You escape from a mountain in a high speed chase, dodge a monstrous Yeti that wants nothing more than to kill you, and then, at the end of the ride wants to cuddle and hug for autographs and pictures?

I had a similar conversation with the CMs last week.

1st ride:
Max: B mode?
CM: What do you think?
Max: I THINK B mode, but this is Disney, where dreams come true, and my dream is A mode! Ah, who am I kidding, disco yeti, here I come!
CM: *Busts out in laughter*

2nd and subsequent rides in same hour-ish time frame:
Max: Despite every other time I've ridden tonight, it's going to work this time!
CM: And this is the place dreams come true.

You don't even want to know the conversations I had with the JC skippers. :lookaroun
