Right, but I’m wondering if there’s any way they could bust in some of those walls or something to create some indoor queue space. Or cut into the treehouse area maybe?
They COULD make it indoor queue space but I’m afraid, given Disney’s current NOS Refurb track record, it will affect the exterior in...
Unpleasant ways...

It seems that there isn't too much they could do with the Pirates queue, since its such a tight space back there. I agree that something needs to be done, though. Its been horrible the last few time I've been there! Maybe what they need to do is to bring it down for an extensive refurb and completely rework it, including the bridge. This may be unrealistic though, since I doubt that they will give too much money to do anything drastic. One can dream though!

Well how badly do you guys want a new POTC Q? It’s not like the Treehouse hasn’t been on the chopping block before.

I say get rid of it! But I'm not as much of a purist as some people are. It seems to create nothing but issues, from the queue space for pirates, to the crowd levels around the space. Yes, the tree house structure is a classic, but it hasn't been the classic tree house for almost 20 years now. The only thing I will miss is the view of the park from up there.

I’d miss it even though I haven’t been up there in years and always just walk right past it.

Do all these new Q and walkway projects even matter if crowds continue growing at the rate they have? Of course some improvement is better than nothing and we don’t know if this level of growth is sustainable but something to think about.

I’d rather they address the problem now and not AFTER they ve removed every tree and planter.

I like what it adds to Adventureland and the removal of its presence would definitely be harmful to the land just as the removal a real large tree would be.

But imagine how much space it would open up relieving the choke point between Adventureland, Frontierland, and NOS.

That’s a good point and I can definitely see both sides. My thing is that maybe they should tackle the real issue instead of razing more and more atmosphere. Because if crowds continue to grow at the rate they have these changes won’t be enough and then they’ll have to look at the real problem. I just hope by then they haven’t turned the park into a barren wasteland. Basically if the end game is that they have to address crowds why not now instead of after they have removed all the trees, planters and quiet corners?

I say build skyliners all over Disneyland. That will make foot traffic much better.

ok, not really

My solution is remove the Dream Suite and build overflow queue in the second floor.

But where would Johnny Depp stay when he comes to the park?

I say get rid of Club 33. Having it be in more than just Disneyland makes it no longer special, plus even just at Disneyland it's no longer special since world leaders and royalty never stop by anymore.

Really a shame they didn't build Indiana Jones all the way back to the berm.

Like WDW's Thunder Mesa or DLP's Discoveryland under a giant Space Mountain dome, these are concepts that only Walt could have built. They keep coming up with these Blue Sky projects with all kinds of integrated attractions, but they always balk when they see the price ticket.

I really don't think the removal of the tree would help much and it would destroy the feel of the area.

The tree itself is in a large garden area right against the Indy queue. In front of the tree is even more landscaped area and water features that continue up to the walkway in adventureland. The removal of some of that garden might help but not the removal of the tree.

Also the entrance stairs to the tree that holds the hanging bridge does not take any space of the walkway that leads from adventureland into New Orleans water front. That pathway width is the same from start to finish because that stump is actually on the incline that leads to the pirates bridge. The trashcans and strollers that are put against the bridge wall and railing actually are the ones that create the bottleneck.

where the entrance queue for the treehouse does take up space is leading to the bridge. Even then the bridge was designed with a curvature so that the width of the bridge stayed the same allowing for the planter to be added that holds the stump.
where the bottle neck happens there is that people stop in that area and mingle creating confusion of guests trying to pass. what could help is the removal of a protruding segment of the planter themselves. The biggest section being on the south side of the walkway closest to the tree.

here you could see the section along with the rock bench. If that rock bench and curved section of the planter was made smaller there would be a more direct access to the bridge without altering the look of the area so drastically as removing the tree
