Do they still use the overflow queue for pirates that used to wrap on the side of the building and next to the I do area?
I remember the took some of the space when they put the ugly elevator but there was still plenty of space back there

I was "trapped" in the queue back there the last time I rode Pirates in 2015.

We need to stop telling the tourists to use fast pass. Just wait in line like any other average Joe dam it!

I don't mind the Pirates queue. There's not much to look at, true, but I think that actually is in the ride's favor-from the outside it looks fairly innocuous and if you'd never been to the park before you'd never guess it was one of the best, most elaborate rides. To my mind that's part of the reason Pirates makes such an impression on its riders: under-promise outside, over-deliver on ride. Whereas TLM at Magic Kingdom promises the most epic ride ever in the queue, and the hapless Undersea Adventure (or whatever they call it over there) can't hope to meet that.

It also helps that I finally learned to not use the queue on the left when it splits to avoid that awkward extended queue and get a shorter wait.

That said, they desperately need overflow queuing space. It's far too common to see it spilling out of the entrance. Mansion too-they could wrap it around the back of the house, if there's nothing back there.

They’re in the way. I mostly mean the overflow portions. It’s annoying when the Pirates queue has switchbacks all over the place, taking up all the NOS walking space.

You have Indy to thank for that. Pirates used to have a side queue that went down the side of Pirates next to the Jungle Cruise. Using it for Indy caused inumerable problems. Indy is a great ride, but where the park's functionality is concerned it is one of the worst infill projects ever at a Disney park.

All that's behind HM is the DLRR. Oh yeah, and a CM walkway that some CMs have to walk sideways to navigate between the house and the brick wall facing the berm.

Functionally, that queue and ride absorb thousands of guests an hour. I think losing a little Pirates queue was well worth the sacrifice.
