Dumbo & Main Street Updates

Dumbo has just reopened a few days ago. I enjoy that the new queue is covered, but I am going to miss the hedges/topiaries. Another quick note is that there is this weird blue industrial-looking wall behind the circus tents. I’m not sure if it is leftover from construction or just a poor design choice.

I've only seen pics but appears they did a fantastic job. Maybe they took some inspiration from the WDW circus tent version? Not sure about the walls.

They’re in the way. I mostly mean the overflow portions. It’s annoying when the Pirates queue has switchbacks all over the place, taking up all the NOS walking space.

Oh I see what you mean. Mansion would probably mean making Magnolia park part of the official Q ( not sure how I feel about that) and Pirates, well, I’m not sure there is anything they can do?

EDIT: in regards to Pirates, well how expendable is Tarzan’s Treehouse?

I believe there are plans in the works to redo the queues for both Mansion and Pirates. And really all of NOS crowd flow issues.

With Pirates down I have a feeling they will also tackle the queue as part of it. When Mansion goes down for the Holiday switch over they will likely tackle that queue at that time.

What do you think they’ll do ?

I think they will most likely retheme the Magnolia Park area next to the mansion into part of an expanded queue. They would most likely theme the area in a similar style to the Haunted Mansion fast pass next door.

As for pirates, I really haven’t the faintest idea...

I love the queue projects. Now if they could manage to do the same thing with the Pirates and Mansion queues... THAT would be awesome.

The PoTC queue is one of the worst at Disneyland. About 90% of it is outside with nothing to look at in switchback lanes that in some sections are about 1' wide. Getting stuck in that thing on a hot summer day is about one of the worst things that can happen to a person at Disneyland.

It's a great line. I love the awkward narrow alleyway and the awkward bridge with awkward views of people walking by above. I love the awkward painted details that look three-dimensional from a distance and of course the perfect transition from a New Orleans building to boats passing by a robotic bird and brick archways leading to a bayou at night. Something you never expect passing through the doors and pure DL magic. Not to mention the charming signs posted in front that are actually mirrors!

We can dream, but I'm not sure how they can do this with summer crowds, Fantasmic running, and in 2 months when they haven't even started yet?

I don't know of many details. But the rumors was that NOS crowd control project was going to be the like recent AdventureLand one. So I wouldn't be surprised if they included a reconfiguration of the queue. Or adding a more permanent external one for Pirates.

All this is in anticipation for SW:GE. So any inconvenience that may happen during the summer will be worth the improvements in the long run.

Do they still use the overflow queue for pirates that used to wrap on the side of the building and next to the I do area?
I remember the took some of the space when they put the ugly elevator but there was still plenty of space back there

Best way to fix it is to get rid of fastpass and max pass then they wouldn’t need so much queue.
All the fast pass lanes would be converted back to regular queue space

That’s what I’m wondering about. I remember it being used a few years ago but recently I haven’t seen it in use.
