Here is a good pic from 2-9-18 showing how far back the parade gates will be moved. (The new pillars?)

Right on the other side of the construction wall, the happiest cruise that ever sailed, is where first class dogs come down to take a...well, you know. Lets the hopeful small world immigrant dolls know where they rank in the scheme of things.

It makes it look more charming to have big natural trees growing around it. DL is like a magical forest in the middle of an ugly urban sprawl. Little trees never look right. The ones in Cars Land and WDW Fantasyland are obviously tiny trees. The last time I saw The Haunted Mansion, it was starting to look like the house from Jumanji with all the wild growth back there. It's one of DL's trademarks.

looks like they got rid of the huge landscaped area between the IASW and the original gates. some videos posted online showed the retaining wall that is is by red line I drew still standing and covered to protected it. That would mean that they intend of saving some of the landscape to hide the backstage and wall
so if that will be the position of the new gate it will probably be something like this.

new gates in red, grey is slightly changed parade route like they mentioned and yellow area will now be used for
a)stroller parking
b)extended queue
c)both

maybe what they should have done is just go ahead and make an even bigger change to help the flow of traffic in that area and make a bigger change to parade route.

Remove the IASW mall area and relocate it further east so that it cradles that monorail track and old motorboat load area.
then reroute the Parade route. This would have opened up the western edge of the IASW/ Fantasyland theater area.
like this

pink new parade route and yellow new parade viewing area

It would be kind of cool if they built a path that continued to the Tomorrowland DLRR Station.

It would be kind of cool if they built a path that continued to the Tomorrowland DLRR Station.

If they are serious about fixing guest flow and capacity a path like that would help quite a bit, it would be quite the challenge though because the train station is quite a far away with several obstacle in the way

One thing they really should consider removing the inner “8” portion of the monorail and just leave the outer ring. At the same time remove the peoplemover track and most of the original Fantasyland autopia and clear up that huge piece of land for expansion.
They don’t even have to remove the submarines because the show building runs north to south on the eastern edge of the property.
The original tomorrowland autopia only used to run over the show building so they can even leave autopia and revert it back to its original track and still have a huge chunk of land for expansion.

This is where they can expand Fantasyland with their frozen or Beauty and the beast ideas or better yet a new idea.

for visual
yellow remove this portion of monorail
red reconnect monorail track
blue approximate position of the original tomorrowland autopia over submarine show building.

If it was up to me I would just remove the Autopia or figure out a way of retrofitting the remaining peoplemover track that runs through tomorrowland and maybe use it as a portion of a smaller Autopia on an elevated path. make that upper so that the cars take over control of speed and fix the cars so that they have a more secure lapbar instead of seatbelts to avoid people from standing up.
Tomorrowland really needs to be a multi level land with more visual energy

I beg to disagree. Based on DisneyGeek's construction photo, I think it will probably be more like this:

IASW-2.jpg

Here Orange would be the Southern border of the parade route, Purple the new Gates, and Blue the expanded queue (possibly with some stroller parking). I believe the two square columns in the foreground are the new gateposts. YMMV

That’s what i first thought but last week Saturday when I took the monorail and from recent videos on YouTube the planter just a couple feet east of those new posts is still there and was being protected by barriers. They even place new asphalt on the small access path that leads south right against the planter and covered it with a tarp to protect the tree and brush
Unless they remove that planter and retaining wall along that access path there is no way the parade route will be moved that far south and have room for the floats.
We will have to see what happens next few weeks and see if they just had barriers in front of it for safety reasons for work vehicles and then later will be removed
