Dreams Come Alive and MSEP rebuild

This MSEP referb is a bit confusing... Did DCA not JUST update the floats? And why the heck are they putting money into rebuilding MSEP and not Spectro?? But whatever ends up happening.. Are we looking at 2016 for its return?

Also I am thinking if FoF will only be performing in the evening temporarily while MSEP is down, I highly doubt TDO will put the effort into adding color changing flood lights along the parade route like DL and DCA have.

The MSEP was updated cosmetically 4 or 5 years ago. The float chassis (frames, bases etc) need work doing soon.

True, but again why put the funds into MSEP and not Spectro? And if they are going to replace the frames, bases, etc then just build a new Dreamlights style parade for heaven sakes! We are getting a new modern daytime parade why not a new modern nighttime parade to go along with it? And a new firework show is coming to? We should just get a nice new complete entertainment package!

Yeah, I just don't like this sniping amongst various people/sites. Very negative and there's no reason for it. Martin didn't say anything inaccurate, so why did this other person feel the need to gloat? Add to that, Martin's nice on the boards - he doesn't have a go at others, so...just one of those things that got my blood pressure up a bit.

I'm the author of that post, and I can tell you that I have a huge amount of respect for Martin, and that is why I mentioned him by name, because I respect him and because 99.9% of the things he says actually happen. The site I run actually never refers negatively about other sites. I would never do that myself. Sorry if it came across as being something negative.

The MSEP / DEP rebuild will focus on the physical float frames and drives. They aren't exactly in tip top condition. Any additions would be welcome of course, but don't hold your breath. If anything were to happen I'd look for plussing as opposed to radical changes both in audio and visuals. But I have been wrong before.

That makes sense why they'd take the whole parase offline. if it was as simple as newer versions of the units, wouldn't it be easier to swap out the old versions for the new ones as they are ready rather than taking the whole parade offline?

and Fifth I LOVE THE NEW ENTERTAINMENT division in WDW because seriously CTF and DCR and MJJP you call that entertainment and I think its a good idea that theyre putting it in the magic kingdom first.and speaking of the magic kingdom can someone tell when are they going to end MiSiCi the show in an eyesore and Dream along with Mickey is just fine show to me but they need to upgrade that show or change the some of the scenes in it and put princess and the frog tangled brave Toy Story Mary Poppins and Pirates in it and change the finale with fountains in the backround and bubbles in it and all the characters in it with a White and Golden costumes and youve got a pyro in the ending a wolah youve got an ending.

And I am going to toss out another vote to Spectro, loved that parade and score, wife bought the CD she loved it so much, haha.. Heck, it was played at our wedding reception! Crazy, I know.. Too bad the rumors are the termites destroyed the floats, BUT we all know if TDO wanted Spectro back they could make it happen but sadly doesn't look like that's the case, too bad....

Because MSEP is probably the most well known parade Disney's ever produced and is more marketable then Spectromagic.

As someone who has been going to MK since 72 and talks to people when I'm on vacation, I disagree. I'd say they are very close to equally well known and a slight majority prefer Spectro.....

I agree. I've had to explain to people on more than one occasion which floats go with which parade. In reality, the lights and music are just cool and pretty....

New parade, parade being plussed, parades going away....you know, EPCOT has a wide walkway that goes around a certain famous lagoon...nice for a parade. Plus, you could even start it from 2 or maybe even 3 different spots. It could be cool. :lookaroun
